Show L AliaVA (Q)f(TrCWlCZZ; Thomas Charles Roe SMITHFIELD, UTAH PANGUITCH, PAN-GUITCH, UTAH Thomas Charles Roe, 17, Smkhfield, Utah beloved son, brother, grandson and uncle, died June 24, 1995 in an automobile accident in Thatcher, Ida. Tom, was born May 16, 1978 in Logan, Utah to Kenneth V. and Judith Roe. Tom loved Sky View High School where he enjoyed many friends and excelled in sports. As a sophomore, He played football, basketball and was on the track team. He took the region and state title in the pole vault this past Spring, and was second in the Tournament of Champions. His goal was to "clear 18 feet" before he graduated. Tom would have been a junior this coming Fall. He loved to fish as much as he enjoyed other outdoor sports. He is survived by his parents, six brothers and three sisters: Dusty, West Valley, Utah; Sandee and Craig Everett, Alexandria, Va.; Rob, Provo, Utah; Robin and Jake Marshall, Leadville, Colo.; Nanette and Eric Stucki, Logan, Utah; John, Mike and Ryan of Smithficld and Jim who is on an LDS mission in Wisconsin. He loved to play with his two nephews and his niece. He enjoyed visiting with his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Grandparents Grand-parents are Arthur and Wenda Mae Tcbbs and the late Wilford and Ruby Roe of Panguitch, Utah. Friends called at the Nelson Funeral Home in Smithficld Monday Mon-day evening and at the Smithficld LDS 3rd Ward Chapel on Tuesday prior to funeral services. Earl Roc, an uncle, offered the family prayer. Bishop Thomas Blanchard conducted the funeral service. Prelude and postlude music was provided by Brandon arid Brenae Bradford. Services opened with a musical selection. "Where Can I Go For Peace," by the ward choir after which Rob Roe, a brother, offered the invocation. John Roe, a brother gave a life sketch and tribute. A friend, Mike Lindhart, then spoke. JoAnn Schwartz sang "O, My Father," accompanied by Caroline Condie. A speaker, Bishop Alan Wamsley, was followed fol-lowed by a musical selection, "I Feel My Savior's Love," by Rod and Melissa Stuart and Roger and Suzy Spackman. They were accompanied by Joyce Bradford on piano and Brandon and Brenae Bradford on strings. Bishop Blanchard Blan-chard offered closing remarks and Russell Bulkley, an uncle, the benediction. bene-diction. Pallbearers were Dusty Roe, Rob Roe, John Roe, Ryan Roe, Jake Marshall, Eric Stucki and Terry Godfrey. Honorary pallbearers were Elder Jim Roe, Craig Everett, Brennen Marshall, and Dustin Mar-shall. Concluding services were held at graveside on Wednesday morn-ng, morn-ng, June 28 at the Panguitch City Cemetery where Tom Roe's father, Ken Roe, dedicated his son's grave. J Vardon Woolsey Vardon Woolsey ESCALANTE Vardon Woolsey, Wool-sey, 70, of Escalante, died June 23, 1995. He was born April 24, 1925 to David M. and Elisa Avory Duel Woolsey. He married Clca Porter Jan. 20, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The marriage was solemnized solem-nized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Jan. 8, 1965. He lived in American Fork and was employed at Geneva Steel until his retirement in 1975. He and his wife then returned to Escalante to live. He was an active member of the LDS church and a Navy veteran, vet-eran, having served during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Escalante; three sons and three daughters, Layne Vardon and his wife Pat Woolsey, Escalante; Robert Dean and his wife Judy Woolsey, Orem; Preston David and his wife Kim Woolsey, Lehi; Lawana Woods, American Fork; Joyce and her husband Larry Sykes, American Fork; and Brenda Fowler, Richfield; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters, George D. Woolsey, American Fork; Golda Mclnclly, Salt Lake City; Donna Hatch, Richfield; Clone Newman, Ogden; and LaVern Twitchell, Lehi. Ora G. Excell Myers PANGUITCH, UTAH Our dear, sweet, wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, left this earth to dwell with her Heavenly Father and her eternal sweetheart on June 22, 1995. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Gwen Brown, in Woodruff, Utah after a short illness. She was 86 years old. She was born Oct. 11, 1908, in Panguitch to Henry George and Marie Henrie Excell. She married her childhood sweetheart, James Levi Myers, Sept. 25, 1929 in Richfield, Utah. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple, May 28, 1931; he died Mar. 10, 1985. She worked for and retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company after 25 years. She received many acknowledgments for perfect attendance atten-dance and for never being late or absent from work for 25 years. As a member of the LDS Church, she held several positions. She especially loved being in the Relief Society presidency. She was an excellent seamstress, cook and housekeeper. She crocheted over 100 afghansaftcr she was 76 years old and gave them away. She answered the telephone for 12 years for Myers Plumbing Company. Her most treasured times were when she was surrounded by her sweetheart, Levi, children and family; fam-ily; especially when she was able to do something for them. She loved camping out, hunting, fishing, reunions re-unions and her religion. She took time to keep in touch and hold her families together. She was loved and will be missed each day by all who knew her. "We love you Mom, our dear Best Friend." "You have left a great void in our lives." She is survived by four children, James L. Talbot, Gean S. (Verl) Henrie, Elsa E. Talbot, Marie E. (Clair) Mortcnsen; sisters-in-law, Hilma Excell, Donctta Stalham; 21 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Jim, Earl and Ballard, sister, Irene and son-in-law, Lawrence R. Brown. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 24, 1995 in the Jordan North LDS Stake Center in West Valley City, Utah with Bishop Steven Stott presiding and Elder Grant Perry, Bishop of the Jordan North 8Ui LDS Ward officiating. offici-ating. Prelude and postlude music was performed by Bishop Steven Stott. Family prayer was provided by a brother, Don G. Excell prior to the opening of the service. He is preceded in death by one grandson, two sisters and a brother and his parents. Funeral services were held June 27 at the Escalante 2nd Ward Chapel with Bishop Clem griffin officiating. Prelude and postlude music was provided by Doneen Griffin. Clive Newman offered the invocation followed by speaker Preston woolsey. A musical selection, selec-tion, "That Silver-Haired Daddy of Mine," was sung by Lynn and Dclane Griffin. David Woolsey spoke next, and Crystal Fowler contributed a. poem. Final remarks were made by Bishop Griffin, followed by a closing musical mu-sical selection, "Green, Green Grass of Home," by Dcon Alvey, Marlcne Haws and Geraldine Liston. Eric Woolsey offered the benediction. Pallbearers were Robert Woolsey, Wool-sey, Layne Woolsey, Preston Woolsey, Wool-sey, David Lane Woolsey, Brent Monson, Chris Christensen and Larry Sykes. , - . ; Ora G. Excell Myers The invocation was given by a grandson, James Randy Myers, followed fol-lowed by a vocal selection "Abide With Me; 'Tis Eventide," by Krista Perry. A history was shared by Caleene Juilan and a sister, Marie Mortensen spoke. A grandson, Kim Mortensen read a tribute written writ-ten by daughter, Gwen Brown. A vocal combination of "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," "In The Garden," and "Somewhere My Love" were rendered by Evan and Nikki Excell. Granddaughter Debra Christiansen spoke, followed by a tribute from daughter, Elva Mortensen. A vocal selection, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" and "Love One Another" was performed by granddaughters grand-daughters Lisa Bell and Laurie Cornellson. Grandson Darrin Myers spoke, followed by remarks from Elder Grant Perry and a benediction bene-diction by grandson Steve Myers. Pallbearers were Gaydon Mortensen, Robert Mortensen, Lynn Myers, Krehl Brown, Michael Myers, Wade Myers and Ryan Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Dustin McDaniel, Cory Johnson, Todd Johnson, Devin Johnson, Trent Due, Trevor Due, Casey Myers, Derrick Wall, Jeffrey Julian, Brandon Lioret, Justin Lioret, Cody Myers, Clayson Myers, Preston Myers, Nicholas Myers, Morgan Mortcnsen, Russell Ellsworth, Christopher Christman, Jessy Myers, Clint Cornellson, Rory Bell and Lynn MorasL Compassionate services were rendered by the sisters of the Jordan North Stake Center and the Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward Relief Society. Burial was Sunday, June 25, in the Panguitch Cemetery with graveside services and interment officiated of-ficiated over by Bishop Kenneth R. Miller, of the Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward. Great-grandson Cody Mortcnsen performed the dedication of die grave under the direction of Neal S. Maglcby & Sons Mortuary of Richfield. Honorary pallbearers included Brett Woolsey, Landon Woolsey, Brody Sykes, Trey Sykes, Justin Monson, Brandon Woolsey, Cody Woolsey, Braden Poteet, Tony Worthen, Justin Christensen, Klint Mathews, Marvin Worthen and Joe Ward. Interment was in the Escalante Cemetery where Ed Shakespear dedicated the grave. Military rites were performed by the Escalante Post of the American Legion. Vardon Woolsey's grandchildren include Tresa Monson, Sherie Lewi, Amber Ward, Brandy Woods, Tammy Christensen, David Lane Woolsey, Robin Worthen, Brooke Mathews, Brody Sykes, Trey Sykes, Lacee Sykes, Cody Woolsey, (Jeromie Fowler, deceased), de-ceased), Crystal Fowler, Melissa Fowler, Brett Woolsey, Landon Woolsey, Shalyn Woolsey and Shalisse Woolsey. His great-grandchildren are Justin Monson, Lindsay Monson, Harley Monson, Jennifer Lewis, Jessica Lewis, Ashley Bodily, Justin Christensen, Kristen Poteet, Bailey Poteet, Braden Poteet, Tony Worthen, Wendy Worthen, Brandon Bran-don Woolsey, Jodie Woolsey, and Mackenzie Mathews.
