Show inreoAisog Eugene (Pole) Griffin BOULDER Eugene (Pole) Napoleon Griffin, 59, died Tuesday, Mar. 10, 1992 at the home of his daughter, Karen Palmer in St. George, Ge-orge, Utah after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 23, 1933 in Escalante to Ray and Lenora Roundy Griffin. He married Mar-jorie Mar-jorie King Jun. 10, 1953. They were later divorced. He married Judy Kelley Nov. 1971, later divorced. He married Rose Marie Cox Aug. 9, 1985. She preceded him in death Dec. 7, 1990. Reared and educated in Escalante, Mr. Griffin graduated from Escalante High School. He worked many years in Boulder in the ranching business and also worked in the construction industry in Las Vegas, Nev. and Phoenix, Ariz. He was employed as a miner for Utah Power & Light, Deer Creek Mine, Huntington. He retired after ten years. The past five years he owned and operated Griffith's Drive-In in Boulder. Mr. Griffin served in the U.S. Army stationed at Camp Hanford, Wash, during the Korean conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and travel. He was a member of the United Mine Workers. Work-ers. He was also a member of the LDS church. Surviving family members include in-clude one son and two daughters: Gaden Griffin and Karen Palmer, both of St. George and Camille Ballard, Cedar City. Also seven grandchildren, his mother, Lenora Roundy Griffin, Escalante; two brothers and two sisters; Claron Griffin, William (Bill) Griffin, Melba Brooks and Eva Dean Liston, all of Escalante. Funeral service were held Saturday, Satur-day, Mar. 14, 1992 at the Boulder LDS Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Boulder Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, St. George. |
