Show i (mrntomm I Merle Heywood PANGUITCH Merle Rees Maxfield Heywood, 83, died October Octo-ber 21, 1992. She was born January 16, 1909 to Bess Angell and Thomas Rees. She married Vaughn Maxfield, later divorced. She married True Heywood Hey-wood in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She lived a life of service, putting others needs before her own. She loved her family, gardening, garden-ing, singing, telling stories especially espe-cially to her grandchildren and reciting poetry. She taught school for 41 years where her creativity, enthusiasm, adventurous spirit and love for each individual student changed lives forever. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Ruel Clark, Bluffdale; a daughter-in-law, Karen Soderholm, Washington; stepchildren, stepchil-dren, Fred and Reta Heywood, West Valley City; Louise and Stan Ott, Tropic; Kenneth and Lorraine Heywood, Wasco, Calif.; 23 grandchildren grand-children and numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Matt Rees, Odessa, Tex.; two sisters, Win-nifred Win-nifred Erickson and Maevonne Moench, both of Salt Lake City. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sat-urday, October 24, 1992 in the Bluffdale 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Ted Van Dam officiating. officiat-ing. The family prayer was offered by Mathew Rees with prelude and postlude music played by Marsha' Dunn. The invocation was given by Craig Bergeson with the reading of the obituary performed by Morris Clark. A musical melody was sung by the great-grandchildren with tributes rendered by Maevonne Moench and Fred Heywood. A violin solo was performed by An-geli An-geli Anderson, followed by tributes from Crystelle Bergeson, Laura Garner, Jana Christensen, Angelle Anderson and Scott Anderson. A musical number was per-formed per-formed by Cherelle Stone with remarks re-marks given by Bishop Ted Van Dam. A musical medley of Merle's favorite hymns was sung by Charles Garner, Scott Anderson, Ruel Clark, Morris Clark, Craig Bergeson, Jon Anderson and Jeff Christensen. The benediction was given by Charles Garner with the dedication of the grave performed by Ruel Clark. Pallbearers were Paul Maxfield, Scott L. Anderson, Charles Garner, Craig Bergeson, Morris Clark, Jon Anderson, Spencer Anderson and Jeff Christensen. Honorary pallbearers pall-bearers were Merrill Clark, John Flemming, Lee Brough, Matthew Rees, Louis Moench and Thayer Barrowes. Interment was at the Elysian Burial Gardens in Salt Lake City. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Broomhead Funeral Fu-neral Home in Riverton. Martha Anderson Allred JUNCTION Martha Jane Mangum Anderson Allred, 92, of Junction, died October 24, 1992 in a Kane County hospital. She was born October 11, 1900 in Deseret, Millard County, to David Newton and Elizabeth Jane Thornton Mangum. She married James Ephraim Anderson Sept. 20, 1918 at the St. George LDS Temple. He died Jan. 23, 1972 She married Ephraim Vance Allred, Feb. 26, 1974 in Caliente, Nev. He died Jun. 16, 1980. She served as a teacher in the LDS Primary and in Sunday School. She was a Visiting Teacher for over 50 years. She is a former resident of Glendale and Hatch. She is survived by three sons and one daughter, Lawrence and Ann Anderson, Kanab; Virgil Anderson, An-derson, Panguitch; Fred and Betty Anderson, Murray; Mrs. Ned (Cleopha) Henderson, Orderville; 22 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, two step-sons and three stepdaughters: step-daughters: Vance Allred, Las Vegas; Ve-gas; Mrs. Arnold (Amy) Terrell, Overton, Nev.; John Allred, Lenoir City, Tenn.; Agatha Barnum, Ivins, Utah; Molly Ann Gonzales, Med-ford, Med-ford, Ore. Several step-grandchil- !4 X ' ; Martha Anderson Allred dren and step-great-grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, Marvin Mangum, Keams; Mandy Fletcher and Don C. Mangum, Cannonville. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 28, 1992 at the Circleville 1st Ward LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Hatch Cemetery under the direction of Neal S. Maglcby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. |
