Show FLU WARNING Reinforcing warnings by national and state medical doctors urged that all physicians and local health officers promote early immunization against influenza. All Utah citizens past the age of 45 should be vaccinated promptly against Asian Influenza. For those not previously immunized two shots are recommended: One now, the second in about two months. If you haad shots last year, a booster shot will heighten the immunity. A study of recent and past patterns indicates that wide spread outbreaks of Influenza A2 (Asian) will occur in the U.S. during the 1962-63 winter season. The. reason why older people should be vaccinated against influenza is that flu is a killer following or in concert witn other diseases. Even more important is' the immunization of persons in certain other specialized groups, of any age. These are those with heart disease, lung or kidney infections, diabetes or other metabolic diseases, and pregnant women. The Utah State Board of Health urged all citizens to cooperate to prevent a possibly serious influenza epidemic in Utah. |
