They had to dig it up and put a new one in but it is now fixed and working fine. Thanks to Bret Chynoweth and Raymond Brinkerhoff and crews. They take good care of our city and we certainly appreciate them for doing that. Ernie and Wynona Henderson would like to extend their thanks to all who came to their aid and took care of their yard while Ernie was in the hospital in Salt Lake for many days. They were gone from their home for five weeks and everyone took care of their yard for them. Ernie is now home and doing very well. We wish him a speedy recovery so he can get back to doing what he likes. The Henderson's had just been home one day when their son, Mitch, called from St. George and told them the baby was coming. Mitch and his wife Pam Henderson had a beautiful little boy on August 27th. They named him Tabian Henderson and he weighed in at 6 lbs. and 13 ozs. and was 19 inches long with lots of black hair. Wynona reports that this is the first grandbaby for them in almost nineteen years. All their other grandchildren are grown up. Kevin and Dorothy Denny and Shelby Huffacker of Vista California came to visit with the Hendersons. They visited with them while they were in Salt Lake and then came on down to Henrieville to visit some more and see Max and Logann Eager and family of three children. The Henderson family held a reunion from September 2nd through Labor Day. They are spending their days at Pine Lake and the nights camping out on the Henderson lawn. It will be easier for Ernie to participate this year that way. Those who were coming are Dan and Wendy Davis and son Austin with his friend, Kaitlyn West. They are traveling from Mesa Arizona. Shane and Candice Davis of Ephraim, Bryan and Trish Dixon and Lynne Granger of Riverton, Dallas Henderson of Kearns, Jake Marx of Denver Colorado and of course Max and Logann Eager will all be in attendance at this Family Reunion. Mark your calendars for September 20th. The American Search Dogs are coming to Tropic. These are highly trained Search and Rescue dogs that have been searching for the missing Susan Powell up Salt Lake way. Their trainers will be here to teach you how to learn what to do if you ever get lost. There will also be a Ice Cream Social with ice cream and cookies. There will be drawings for prizes which are fantastic and the proceeds will all go towards the "Safe Sidewalk for our Kids" project headed up by Annette Chynoweth. She has put a lot of work into this along with her helpers and would sure appreciate your support. We are asking for donations of cookies or a cake to go towards the refreshments. Your tickets will cost a $1.00 and you can also purchase these tickets for the drawings. The Ice Cream Social starts at 6:30, the Search Dog Demonstration will be at 7:15 and prize drawing will be at 8:15. The evening is actually free to the public and we would love to have you attend. Plan on attending as your Family Home Evening Activity. What a great activity to do with your family. We send our condolences out to the family of Gary Orton on the passing of wife and mother, Colleen Orton. A woman known for her generosity and fun personality. Colleen was always trying to help someone in need and was very gracious about it. We want the family to know they are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Collen's brother, Birch Moore and his wife Kelly are awaiting the return of their Missionary son who has been serving in Korea. Our son, David and his family have headed out via plane to Concepcion' Chile' to pick up their Missionary son, Joseph who is finishing up two years in Chile' Hope they have a safe journey. They are hoping to move here now that he is the Principal of BVHS. There have been a large amount of visitors and family reunions but I don't know where or who. By the way both Spencer Harman and his wife will be shipping out to Afghanistan in a short while to serve with the army for a year. We wish them the best and want them to stay safe so they can come home and enjoy their newlywed status. Marie Pollock is teaching a Beginning Sewing class to the women of Tropic.
