IITCHJ SHED ANTLER HUNTERS CAN HELP WILDLIFE, PROTECT RESOURCES Nairlik°4464 - &nag. neafaliailift*Mia• Caa Old man winter is still hanging around with a couple of inches of the white stuff on Friday morning. Yesterday Saturday, was the first day of spring. The spring Equinox is celebrated over most of the world, (another excuse for a party). The Equinox happens twice a year and it is the day where there is equal day light and night time, twelve hours of each. We will get two minutes of more daylight each day, one in the morning and one in the evening. When summer starts we will have a sunset at about 9:30, and then the process reverses till the fall Equinox when we will be back to the equal daylight and nighttime is not the first time Panguitch has come to Parowan for help .The group sang "Happy Birthday" to Panguitch. It is the 139th year since the second group made the trek over the mountain from Parowan. It was a good evening, good food, good friends, good fun and good financial donations to the statue (close to $3,000). Pat and Claudia said to tell all who helped in so many ways that you are our examples of service. They appreciate that you are always there to serve. Well the candidates for the County Commissioners and School Board members have dropped their hats in the ring. The fun has just begun! ! ! The following have filled for Commissioner from Panguitch, Elaine Baldwin, Leland Pollock, Tom Simkins, Brett Taylor and Wallace Veater. By this printing there will have been a caucus held last Tuesday and two candidates will be picked there to run in the primary to represent the Republican Party in November's general election. There are no other party candidates that have filed for this office. There are two candidates for the School Board District that represents Antimony, Boulder and Hatch; Bobbie Bryant from Hatch and Sherrill Cox from Boulder. These two will meet in the General election in November. Ken Platt the current School Board President is running unopposed in Bryce Valley. Joe Thompson the County Assessor is being opposed in the election by Cade Fulmer, these two will meet in the primary in June. All other County Officers are unopposed. At Panguitch Elementary lunch room, everyday someone is assigned to hand out soap to wash hands before the students eat. Last week Justin Mosdell took his turn and did a great job. I have watched Justin over the last six or seven years and am amazed at the unbelievable progress he has made. Because of Justin and students with special needs we have a special education Pre-school that helps all students with learning difficulties. Julianne Mullenaux has been working with Justin all these years and now has him walking across the gym floor with out his crutch; it is an exciting sight to behold. Justin can't wait to go to high school. Dudey L. Proctor will celebrate her 96th birthday on March 26th. Happy Birthday Dudley. For the younger set, Dudley is Gwen Proctor Frandsen's mother.
