The Garfield County Volunteer Center is part of The Points of Light Foundation and the Volunteer National Network which helps to connect 2.5 million people to over a million volunteer opportunities annually. Janet Sharma > a volunteer center executive director, describes the important role volunteer centers play in communities this way: "All Volunteer Centers share the American ideals of democracy, of shared responsibilities for our society, and of individual participation in collective goals. Volunteers are part of the solution, not part of the problem and as a result schools are better, communities are strengthened and the disenfranchised are cared for by caring people. Volunteer Centers are the link" 1 There are many ways to help in your community. Call the Garfield County Volunteer Centefto find out how.
