I am wondering if the pulleys'^are frozen due to the cold and wet weather we are having or if it is because the Liberals have taken control of Congress? Members of the Panguitch Lions Club gathered at the Country Corner Restaurant for their regular monthly meeting on January 3rd. There were 27 membrs present which is the largest number we have had at a regular meeting for a long time. Our club membership is growing but there is still room for more. Our Secretary, Lioness Sherill Henrie, reported that we had earned an award for the greatest percentage of growth in membership and also a Humanitarian award for our community activities. The past year has been a good one for our club. Our recycling project did not quite measure up to what I had hoped, but it still brought $932.75 to our club treasury.Thisisa-little shbrtof the prior year/but is not too bad consider-' ing that for 4 months I was unable to gather and deliver the cans. Our 6 Early Morning Breakfasts were all financially successful as were our other fund raising projects due to the support of community members. The funds raised were returned to our community in contributions to 17 different projects, organizations or individuals to the tune of $5,720. Lioness Pat Oetting (Sub for Santa Chairman) reported that we were able to see that Santa visited 90 children, 3 families, and provide food to others for a Christmas Dinner. Pat said she was overwhelmed by the support she received from individuals she met who made personal contributions to the project(iypical Panguitch Support) Lion Mac Oetting informed club members of a new EM^T plass^that was.starting ah<ffelTthaf the" tuftionVosfmight be causing [some individuals not to apply so our club voted to start the new year on the right foot by donating $500.00 to help defray the cost of tuition to those taking the class.
