Show NOVEMBER 2,2006 H.E.A.T PROGRAM TO OFFER HELP WITH HOME HEATING BILLS THIS WINTER A cold winter can be a hardship for some Utah families not only trying to keep warm, but also in paying for the rising home heating bills. The H.E.A.T. Program is once again available to help. The H.E.A.T. (Home Energy Assistance Target) program will be accepting applications for all qualifying low in come households who need help paying their home heating bills during the upcoming months. The program begins on November 1st, 2006 and will continue through the end of April 2007. Applicants must bring to their scheduled appointment some form of photo identification, a copy of Social Security cards for all persons in the household age 18 or over, a copy of their most recent bill from each utility supplier, proof of household income for everyone employed in the home, and paid medical receipts for the prior month. H.E.A.T is not a welfare program. It is a federally funded energy assistance program that is operating through and using the facilities of the State Department of Community and Culture, arid locally administered by the Six County Association of Governments. H.E.A.T. assists eligible households to meet the rising costs of home heating by making a one time payment directly to the utility company. The amount of the payment is based on income and energy use in the household. Households with elderly or disabled residents with children under six years of age may qualify for additional assistance.
