Show Page March 24, 2011 PSA Ora Brinkerhoff Tropic, Utah Ora LeFevre Brinkerhoff, 90, of Tropic, passed away in Panguitch on Sunday, March 20, 2011. Ora was born on May 24, 1920 to Eli & Amplus Littlefield LeFevre in Tropic, Utah. She married Eldon "Dutch" J. Brinkerhoff on July 4, 1938 in Tropic. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. He preceded her in death January 4, 1979. Ora was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various church positions throughout her life. She was a dedicated visiting teacher up to the age of 89. Mother's love of life was her family. She enjoyed family get-to-gethers of all kinds and loved preparing food for everyone to eat. Her homemade mustard, cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, peanut butter fudge, turkey casserole and fry cakes have been enjoyed by many through the years. Mother worked for many years as a cook in the school lunch program and for the senior citizen center. She enjoyed the children and ladies she worked with as much as the cooking. Her flower gardens were her summer hobby. She made a flower bed in every available place. Her yards were photographed and enjoyed by tourists worldwide as well as the community. Her winter hobbies included sewing and quilting. She has made many dresses and western shirts for her children and grandchildren. Her beautiful quilts will continue to be enjoyed by all her family and friends. She loved Christmas and made homemade candy by the pounds. Ora loved to travel. She had a special place in her heart for out of town trips with her daughters. Ora was loved deeply by her family and friends and will be missed very much. Ora is survived by her children: Louise (Jim) England, Tropic; Raymond Kenneth (Ronelda) Brinkerhoff, Tropic; Ferrell (Gwen) Brinkerhoff, Tropic; Oretta (Doug) Malmedal, Las Vegas, NV; Danny K. (Wendy) Brinkerhoff, Tropic; Rose Marie (Jeff) Hunt, Beaver; Donna (Link) Chynoweth, Escalante; 28 grandchildren, 78 greatgrandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren She is also survived by siblings: Glenna Pollock and Gaya (Jack) Greenhalgh, both of Tropic. Ora is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons; Eldon J. "Binky" Brinkerhoff and Dennis Brinkerhoff; son-in-law, Larmar Shakespear; grandsons: Terrell Chynoweth, Darrell Shakespear; great-grandchildren: Savannah Chynoweth, Feonna Watterson, Andrew Stephen Brinkerhoff and Demi Brinkerhoff; brothers, Kenneth, Weldon and Garth LeFevre. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 12:00 Noon in the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel, 41 North 100 West. Friends may call prior to services at the church from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Tropic Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
