Show C M Y K The Garfield County Insider Page 2 Ed and Jen Vaughn at the Burr Trail Grill If you are into food, the new folks in town running the Burr Trail Grill will be of interest to you. They describe themselves as “into FOOD”—growing it, reading about it, experimenting with it, cooking it, and serving it. Ed and Jen have just moved to Boulder to run the Burr Trail Grill, and they hope people in Boulder and those passing through will stop by and try their menu. They moved here from SLC where they worked at Liberty Heights Fresh. Before that they lived for a long time in Kentucky and between them have worked in and run restaurants for 40 years. They decided to move to Boulder because of the beauty here, the interest in gardening alive in this town, and the opportunity to run the grill. They are very excited about hearing from the community. They like to create great food and welcome feedback of what people like and don’t like, so go by and visit. They have goals to increase the use of local products, and supply the restaurant with local produce. Anyone that has produce , eggs, meat etc. should stop by and visit. The business hours are everyday from 11:30 to 4:30 and dinners will start in April from 5 :30 to 9pm. Thursday thru Sunday (however, people can come in during the closed hour at 4:30 if need be because Ed says they will always try to feed hungry people). This first year, they want to just listen to people and get used to being here, so stop by and have a talk and some good food. Trac Norris running in his first meet of the season chalked up a first in the 300 meter hurdles. Despite hitting the first hurdle in the 110 meter high hurdles he was still able to pick up a third in that event. Eric Frandsen had a fourth in the 300 meter hurdles, a fifth in the 110 meter hurdles, and a sixth in the high jump. Kalani Norris placed third in the 800 meter run. KANAB INVITATIONAL The Panguitch “Thin Clads” continued to improve in the young track season as the boys placed second and the girls third at the 12 team Kanab Invitational. Carly Holman won two events, the 400 meter dash and the 800 meter run. Trevor Peterson, Brooks Leach, Riley Taylor, and Brendan Lee won the 4X400 relay by a wide, wide margin. Second place finishes were turned in by Katie Rosser-1600 meter run, Shelby Taylor-Javelin, Jaylen Dodds-Discus, and Brooks Leach-Discus. Katie Rosser also had a third in the 3200 meter run and Trevor Peterson a third in the 800. Fourth place points were racked up by Riley Miller-300 meter hurdles, Shelby Taylor-100 meter dash, Hailey Taylor-300 meter hurdles, and Breanne Bateman-javelin. Cameron Fawson ran a fifth in the 400 meters, Jaylee Breinholt also in the 300 meter hurdles, and Andrew Sawyer in the javelin, shot put, and discus. Chandler Campbell was sixth in the discus, Brendan Lee in the high jump, and Aaron George in the 3200 meter run. We list all of the place finishers because a team wins with every single point earned, and sometimes a sixth place finish is the point that wins the team the meet.
