Show Page 8 THE GARFIELD COUNTY INSIDER FEBRUARY 1,2007 BRYCE VALLEY AREA NEWS ...by Vicki D. Syrett 679-8687 or vickidiane36@hotmail.com Glad to hear that Mary Etta Chynoweth is home and recovering from pneumonia. She spent some time in the hospital but is now home. Get well soon Mary Etta. Congratulations to the new Bishopric in Cannonville. New Bishop is George Thompson with Marty Rich as first counselor, and Eric Jessen as second Counselor. Everyone would like to thank the outgoing bishopric, Joey Comp as Bishop, Steve Clarke as first counselor, and Mark Nelson as second counselor. Thanks for doing a great job for the Cannonville Ward. We wish the new Bishopric the best. A mistake has been reported. Louise Patterson is the Secretary of Primary and not of the Sunday School. Our boys Varsity Basketball team gave us a great game against Wayne High School. It was a closely matched game and the score kept bouncing around but Bryce Valley finally pulled off the win. It was a very exciting game. Our boys sophmore team had a bad two days at the Sophomore Tournament, they lost. But keep on smiling boys we still think you're the greatest. Our boys and girls basketball teams are super and we wish them luck at future games and the Tournaments coming soon. The Cub Scout PineWood Derby was just held and it was a lot of excitement. The winners for the Wolves Den were, Tell Johnson of Henrieville in first place, Hunter Mathews of Cannonville in second place and Ben Cloud of Tropic in third place. The Bears winners were, Landyn Brinkerhoff of Cannonville in first place, Shan Thompson of Cannonville in second place, and Daxtyn Tebbs of Bryce in third place. Webelos winners were, John Cloud of Tropic in first place, Jesse Jessen of Cannonville in second place, and Joshua Rose of Henrieville in third place. The Den Leaders tried a round-robin racing method this year so that each of the boys would be able to race against everyone in their dens. We then took the top three racers and had them race for first, second, and third places. Some cars developed problems and it changed the outcomes somewhat. One had a wobble due to a loose wheel, but he raced on. All the cars were very fast and very nicely constructed. All racers and spectators had a fiin time. The Den Leaders would like to thank all the Cub Scouts and Webelos that pafticp'ated and all of the leaders and parents that helped the event go so smoothly. Sure hope the colds/flu that is going around will soon leave. It is terrible. Have a nice week and call with your news. Thanks... Flex-Pay Home Equity Loans Men are from Mars. Women are from Venus.
