Show NOVEMBER 2,2006 Page 6 T H E GARFIELD COUNTY INSIDER ESCALANTE NEWS ...by Chris Hay coc%35-826-4832, plateofdreams@scinternet. net CatnifCe Moore Well everyone that was able to go how was your "Deer Hunt". It sure isn't like the old days is it? When entire families used to get together and make it fun. I remember when I was young we'd all pack up and go camping. The ones that didn't hunt stayed in camp with the ones too little to help hunt. The ones that was too young to have a license but could help would "beat the brush" to move the deer out so the ones that had a license could fill tags. Anymore a family is lucky to "draw out" more than one tag per family. What the government doesn't do for family unity. All for the the "big bucks" and I'm not talking about the kind that has points on their head. Our Moqui girls did their best at state this weekend. We beat Milford, but didn't place. We'd like to congratulate the girls for a job that they worked hard at.
