It was a pleasant surprise and after a wonderful time with family, David and Kathryn went to Mesquite for a day or two of fun in the sun. They came back to St. George on Saturday and attended the Temple and went to the Joseph Smith film at the Visitor's Center. Kathryn said they had a wonderful time together and not having any place else they had to be or any meetings to attend. It was the Honeymoon they didn't have when they got married. Congratulations to you both. David we didn't know you were such a romantic. Dixie Shakespear was delighted to be able to attend the wedding of grandson, Derrik Shakespear of Escalante. Thanks to son Ed Shakespear and Vernon Spencer, Dixie was able to go to the Manti Temple to witness the wedding of Derrik to Bridget King of Kingston. She said it was a very special day and returned home with son Rett and Danny Shakespear. There was a reception in Circleville for the couple and then another one in Escalante. Nolan and Arvon Button from Kanab picked Dixie up and took her over so she could be a part of the festivities. Family and friends from both sides of the couple were in attendance at the wedding and the receptions and Dixie said she was happy to be there with them. Derrik is the son of Ed and Camille Shakespear of Escalante and the grandson of Vernon and the late Rula Spencer of Escalante and Dixie and the late R. Shakespear of Tropic. Bridget is the daughter of Kasey A. King of Kingston and Camille Gericke. The weather has been so beautiful. It is my favorite time of year. I watched a little squirrel fill his cheeks with corn and other grains yesterday and it was fun. Getting ready for winter I suppose. Just like we are with our canning (bottling). The humming birds seem to have gone south but there are plenty of other birds at our feeders. Have a nice week and let me hear from you so I can have news for the article.
