Show JUNE 8,2006 THE GARFIELD COUNTY INSIDER Page 10 BRYCE VALLEY AREA NEWS ...by Vicki D. Syrett 679-8687 or vicktdiane36@hotmail.com Earl Roe reported in his column about Wesley C. Walton passing away. I learned a couple of new things about my Uncle Wes and I appreciate Earl adding to my news of a week ago. Wes' was a great person and he and his wife Nell, loved to come to Tropic and visit me in the classroom. He looked like my Dad and it would shock me to look up and see him standing there and then seeing Nell with the big grin on her face. She was also a teacher at one time. Thanks Earl. Dixie Shakespear was able to go to Escalante to see her grandson, Dallen Shakespear, graduate with his class at Escalante High School. Shewas worried about getting over there and so she called Lyllian LeFevre and they picked her up and took her over with them. Dixie said it was great seeing all of the kids there .because some of them often come to her house with Dalllen and visit her. Dallen is the son of Ed and Camille Shakespear and he was the Valedictorian for the class. Dixie also enjoyed seeing two of her great-nieces graduate in this same class. They are Amelia and Fathima Le Fevre, daughters of Dell and Gladys Le Fevre of Boulder. Russ and Lyllian LeFevre had a granddaughter, Joani Lyman, graduate from this class. She is the daughter of Tyler and Lisa Lyman of Escalante. Rett and Christine Shakespear came to take Dixie to Escalante on Sunday to hear the Missionary Report of another grandson, Devin Shakespear, son of Ed and Camille Shakespear. He was in the Tulsa Oklahoma Mission. There were many friends and family members present and Devin gave a very interesting talk. Afterwards they all went to dinner at Ed and Camille's. They ate outside under a canopy and even though the weather was a bit chilly they had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed each others company. Jeff and Christy Gardener took Christy's mother, Dixie Shakespear, to Newcastle to attend the Seminary Graduation of Chase Gardiner her grandson. They attended church in Newcastle then went to Enterprise to attend the Seminary Graduation. It was a very special evening with five Enterprise Wards and one Newcastle Ward taking part in the ceremony. It was good for Dixie to see her grandsons, three of which she hasn't seen since the Elk hunt; last year in Boulder. Clint, Chase and Brant all spent time with Dixie back then and so she was happy to see them again now. She wants to thanks Russ and Lyllian LeFevre for taking her to Escalante so she could see the gradu- ation of her Grandson. Mel and Phyllis Beard came up from their home in Chandler, Arizona to visit friends and family for a couple of days. Mel is looking really r good so the Arizona climate must agree with him.
