Interpreters are not employees of the court, but independent interpreters who will be called as needed. Pay ranges from $17.50 to $35 per hour depending on certification. You must become approved with the goal of certification for this opportunity. A one-day workshop has been scheduled July 7, 2006 in Richfield for interpreters who want to complete requirements to be placed on the APPROVED court interpreter list. This is a nonlanguage-specific workshop and provides a general introduction to the profession of court interpreting and the Court Interpreters1 Code of Ethics. There is no cost for this APPROVED workshop. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. The registration form is posted at http:// www.utcourts.gov/resources/interp/. I have a good understanding of these needs, and if I am elected Garfield County Sheriff I will travel through out this county on regular basis, and I will keep myself available to the Garfield County citizens. I want to hear their law enforcement needs and concerns first hand. I will also keep myself available to ALL of our deputies, arid help them in anyway I can, through out Garfield County, I WILL BE A WORKING SHERIFF. |
