Show Page 9 JUNE 1,2006 THE GARFIELD COUNTY INSIDER OBITUARIES Aldyth Riggs Quilter Aldyth Riggs Quilter, age 82, passed away May 22, 2006 in her home in Cedar City, Utah. She was born in Manti, Utah, on September 13. 1923, to William Reeves Riggs Jr. and Muriel Snow. After her school years in Gunnison, Utah, she attended BYU. She later married Franklin H. Quilter on May 4, 1943, in the Manti temple. They later divorced in 1972. She devoted her life to raising her 7 children and a foster daughter (Margo Wilks Peel) along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was everything. Aldyth worked as a Nurse's Aid for many years. She loved serving people and made it a priority in her life. She truly made a difference in many lives. Aldyth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she faithfully served in numerous callings throughout her life. She served a mission in the Colorado, Denver mission and another mission at the Denver Temple. She also enjoyed working with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and had a great appreciation for her heritage. She loved working in her garden, listening to music and it was hard to miss a good ball game. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Aldyth will be fondly remembered for her optimism and unconditional love. She had a special gift of making people feel loved. She is survived by her seven children and three sisters. Clair (Esmi) Quilter, Gary (Patty) Quilter, Wylene (Ric) Hendryx, Carolyn (Ornon) Shaw, Craig (Claudia) Quilter, Evan (Joane) Quilter, Ronnie (Lynnette) Quilter, 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents, her brothers AUTO CENTER Reeves & Joseph, her sisters Maurine Pontiac & Virginia and 2 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 ;00 Buick pm on Saturday May 27"' at the Cedar Stake Center (400 S. 75 E.) Visitations Cadillac will be held at 6:30-8:00 on Friday May 26lh at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 Oldsmobile N. 300 W.) and at 11:30-12:30 on Satlh urday May 27 at the Cedar Stake GMC John Uoyd Center. The Antimony Elementary School had an awards assembly and made arrangments to close the school for summer recess. Parents and students had a special activity at the Otter Creek State Park in the afternoon on Thursday. The Antimony School traveled to St. George by bus on Monday to go swimming at Sand Hollow. McKay Allen has been interning 2 or 3 days a week at Radio Station KCYQ. This is a very good experience for him.
