During the summer it's easy to go out the door and jump on your bike or go for a walk. The high school has an excellent gym with stationary bikes and treadmills and upstairs at the Social Hall they have the same equipment. You can find out how to use these facilities at the high school office and the City Hall for the Social Hall. If you are interested in volunteering for the Quilt Walk Festival events, come to a meeting at the City Office Building on Thursday Feb 3rd. The time is at 4:00 pm. I talked to Dusty Orton, who works down at the Alton mine and he felt that they would be moving coal in the next month. He said they would be hiring 5 or 6 drivers to get going with and add more as things get bigger. The Barney trucking that is doing the hauling is from Panguitch and wants to hire as many locals as possible. Next week is the Super Bowl on February 6th. However on the 5th is the Super Bowl of Pinewood Derby racing at the Stake Center. This is a First Ward function and the inspections and weighting of the cars starts at 9am. During the signup period, farmers and ranchers may offer eligible land for CRP's competitive general signup at their county Farm Service Agency (FSA) office. "Over the past 25 years, CRP's benefits have continued to grow - cleaner water, improved air quality, better habitat for wildlife and a huge reduction in soil erosion," said Douglas. "Today's announcement rein- forces this administration's dedication to help farmers and ranchers conserve natural resources on their land." Land currently not enrolled in CRP may be offered in this signup provided all eligibility requirements are met. Additionally, current CRP participants with contracts expiring this fall may make new contract offers. Contracts awarded under this signup are scheduled to become effective Oct. 1, 2011. To help ensure that interested farmers and ranchers are aware of the signup period, USDA has signed partnership agreements with several conservation and wildlife organizations that will all play an active role in USDA's 2011 CRP Karleen Mclnelly Realtor ®, GRI 435-231-1546 Call us for other land & Properties for sale. 2 Bed, 2 Bath, Double Garage Detached Basement, 1,850 sq. ft., 0.62acre $144,800 D&B REAL ESTATE CEDAR CITY were called as Family History Consultants. Graveside services were held on Saturday for Lucille Mecham Parsons in Henrieville. Lucille was married to Heber Mecham and they lived in Henrieville. Heber died in 1970, and she later married Waldo Parson and they moved to Salina. Lucille's mother was the sister to Charlie Francisco and Berthine Griffin. Her sister was Vareal Neilson. She was also related to The Neilson's, Moore's, Carma Barton and she raised her family in Henrieville. After the service a nice family dinner was given by the Lula Moore family and there were about seventy family members present who had traveled to attend the service.. Lucille hasn't lived in this area in over sixty years but it was always home to her. Ralph Chynoweth presided over the service and Doyl Neilson gave the Dedication of the grave. Jarom Johnson, Lisa Copfer and Tell Johnson spoke in Henrieville today along with Scott and Marie Barton. The Primary sang a medley of songs and sounded great. Be sure to read the school news to learn about the wonderful PINK basketball game on Friday. A baby shower was held for Kami Brinkerhoff and she had a wonderful time.
