Yardley. While so many in the communities of Garfield County and indeed all of Southern Utah are, and have undoubtedly commented on Mr. Yardley's personal and professional stellar reputation, I wish to add my voice in a specific political area. To put it mildly, I am a Kennedy, a staunch Democrat (Rep. Yardley obviously being Republican), and pretty much an unabashed liberal -1 know - a bit strange for a kid from Delta, but the truth nonetheless. I had the pleasure of several personal interactions with Mr. Yardley and wish to testify to the true and genuine nature of caring and compassion he possessed while in this life. He was kind and gentle man, willing to overlook my political differences, and extend a hand of friendship and warmth. Southern Utah has lost a "giant" who has passed to another calling. My condolences to the entire Yardiey family and my most sincere wishes for all who so fondly now remember the remarkable life of James Fredrick Yardley.
