Syrett 679-8687 or vickidiane36@hotmail. Sending condolences out to the family of Pat Dix. He will be sorely missed as he was a big part of our community. A lot of us relied on his column to keep us up to date on the sports scene in High School. We sat by him and his wife at one of the basketball tournaments and he was a delight to visit with. To his wife, Ileta we want you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Clint and Denise Pierson had their wonderful new little boy, McKay Lee Pierson sealed to them on Saturday, November 7th in the Manti Temple. It was especially a special day because they allowed McKay's big brother Trevor and sister Emily to go into witness the special occasion. They wer accompanied by Grandma Darlen Evans of Panguitch and grandparents Lee and Jean Rieske of Spanish Fork, as well as many aunts and uncles. What a very special day it was. It also had special meaning to the family because it had been thirty one years to the day that Clint's dad, Ray Lyn Pierson had been shot and killed as a Highway Patrol Officer. It was so special that Lynn's four kids and his wife could all be in the Temple together on that day. What an awesome day it was for all who attended. Congratulations to the Pierson family on this wonderful event in their lives. A little late but a mention to all our Veteran's on their special day. We owe a lot to these men and women and while we celebrate it on one day in November we should remember them 365 days of the year. The ones who served in the past and the ones who are serving now are the heart of America. Our freedoms mirror all the sacrifice these wonderful people put into fighting for our freedoms. Thank you goes out to everyone of the people who give so much for our country. Thank you!! A special prayer is going out for Bonnie Stewart McArthur who is gravely ill in the Dixie Regional Medical Center. We want her husband and two small children to know that we are sending our prayers and thoughts out to this young family. Bonnie is the daughter of Duane and Carol Stewart of Tropic and our hearts go out to them during this difficult time in their lives. On November 22nd there will be a Youth Fireside held in Panguitch. It promises to be a special evening for all the youth in our area. She was 97 years old and will be missed by her family. We send our prayers and love out to the family. Special congratulations to Braden Syrett and Qwincey Mortensen on their baptisms. Braden is the son of Brady and Shawnee Syrett and he was baptised by his dad. Qwincey is the son of Shawn and Crystal Mortensen and had the special privilege of his older borther Cache baptizing him. Rita Twitchell made a quick trip to Salt Lake as her mother, Connie Kleese, was life flighted up with an Aneurysm in the brain. She is now stable and mending each day. She is in the IMC in Murray. A big new hospital up north. We wish Connie a speedy recovery so she can soon return home. We want Gay Shakespeare to know we send our love and thoughts to her on the passing of her father in Parowan. He was ninetyone years old but he will be missed by his family. CONGRATULATIONS to Wallace and Mary Ott on the event of their Seventyfifth Wedding Anniversary. A family party was held in Hurricane for this wonderful couple. What a great event for them. Another big CONGRATULATIONS to Lula Moore, a beloved lady of Henrieville. She is turning Ninety years old and is still very active in community and church activities. We all just love her. Having health problems is always hard but we want two friends to know we are thinking of them, Marilyn Twitchell of the District Office and Carlita Riggs of the Panguitch Elementary. Hoping for a quick recovery and good health for both of these very special ladies. On Sunday Arthur and Vicki Syrett went to the Homecoming talk of their grandson, Jordan Isaac Jensen who just returned from Bahia Blanca Argentina mission. He looked so good and as he talked you could see the struggle with returning to speaking english. It was fun to watch. He is the son of David and Debbie Jensen and has a brother who is serving in the Concepcion Chile' mission. There were many family members and friends in attendance and it was a good afternoon. Cold but good. I happened to be holding the keys to the Community Center were we met and guess what? Yes you guessed it I came home with them still in my coat pocket. It is so embarrassing to admit to forgetting something like that but I did. Oh well. Sandrea Francisco has been very busy traveling everywhere. She went to a Conference in Alabama for a week and then came home just in time to go to Salt Lake to and EMT meeting. She came home very tired and the very next morning she went to take her mom, Eva Dean Francisco to St. George to the Dixie Regional Medical Center for treatment of an infection in the bone that Eva Dean had broken a few weeks ago. A few days earlier grandson, William Mortensen took Eva Dean down to visit her doctor in St. George and she stayed overnight with them. The next day granddaughter Sherry Ann Springer and William brought her back home and stayed to visit with her and Charlie for a day. Good luck Eva Dean and hurry and get well again. You are reminded that you need to make reservations for the Temple Cottage for January 2010. You can call Carol Pollock or Eva Dean Francisco. A reminder of the Crafts Day at Clarke's this coming Saturday from 10 - 3. Lots of great things to get for Christmas gifts will be on display. The Young Women of Henrieville tied off quilts to donate to Deseret Industries as Christmas Gifts for those in need. They also attended a very fun Youth Dance for 14-18 year olds in Escalante. It was great and Alan Knight was the Emcee for the event and did a super job. SCHOOL NEWS: Red Ribbon week was great and there were a lot of fun activities for everyone to participate in. The Sheriff's Department came and put on a "Say No" assembly. Melissa Veater also put on an assembly about Promoting Healthy Choices. The elementary students entertained by singing for everyone. Basketball will soon be starting and everyone is looking forward to a great year. SENIOR CITIZEN LUNCH MENU: 18th: Creamy Ham & Pot.
