When you get that, go outside and turn on a faucet. Let it run till it’s dry, you’ll help tremendously in getting the silt and rust out of the line and not into your home system. Don’t forget to turn it off. What about the water usage? Don’t worry about it. They are not reading meters this month. In turn, please don’t wash your greatgrandmothers special white dress unless you want a tiedye effect. We’ll let you know when you can expect near perfect water. I have a new series of sign boards in the store. The one I like best is “Kindness Matters”. That’s true during this process. Please be patient with the workers, City Crews and project managers. They’re doing all they can to make this as painless on the residents as possible. Please don’t forget to be Kind. Until next week - Bryce Valley Area News by Vicki D. Syrett 679-8687 or vickidiane36@hotmail.com Tropic Ward has a new Bishop. Bishop Gayle Lynn Pollock is our new bishop with counselors Ron Harris first Counselor and Eric Syrett as second counselor. Berkely Thompson was called as the new Ward Clerk to fill the spot left by Gayle Pollock. The wives of the new Bishopric talked as well as the new Bishop and his counselors as well as outgoing Bishop Kerry Alvey who was put into the Stake Presidency last November. Tracy Syrett, Susan Harris, JoNeil Alvey and Marie Pollock all spoke and were very supportive of their husbands in their new callings. We also had a word or two from our new Stake President Klin Chynoweth. Very nice meeting. Released from their calling as Instructors in the Primary were Damon and Megan Brinkerhoff with a big vote of thanks for a job well done. On the Stake level DeLane Griffin was released as the Stake Executive Secretary and called to that position was Greg Christensen who was also ordained a High Priest. We extend our condolences to Mike and Kami Stevens on the passing of Mike’s grandmother, Ellen Stevens of Holden Utah. They held the service on Friday in Holden. Wynona Henderson, Kathryn Pollock, Kathy Goulding, and LaKay Quilter all met together to help Wynona tie a quilt for her grandson. Good work ladies. Guy Thompson Sr. had the unique pleasure of flying up to Alaska for a short but sweet visity with his son, Guy Jr. and his family. It’s not cold enough here Guy you needed to go further north?!?! Oh my! Carson Willoughby, son of Jared and Dolly Willoughby, turned twelve years old and was ordained a deacon in the Henrieville Ward. In the Cannonville Ward, Shan Thompson, son of Bishop George and Teresa Thompson also was ordained a deacon. Congratulations boys. Our Girl’s Basketball team will be playing in Region at Canyon View High School this week and we wish them the best of luck in their ventures. They went into region in second place with Piute going in at first place. Our boys go to Region at SUU later this month. We wish them a bunch of luck also. Good going to all the teams and good luck. Well we got a smidgen of snow. It didn’t even stick around long enough to do anything with it. Hope there is more in our future as the weatherman says. We will see. Yes, that is me asking for snow even though I prefer sunny and warm. I know we need it. Have a great week and keep smiling. Call or email your news to me. Thanks VS “Sometime this year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format: “Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment? “A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers. “Q. Where will the government get this money? “A. From taxpayers.. “Q. So the government is giving me back my own money? “A. No, they are borrowing it from China . Your children are expected to repay the Chinese. “Q. What is the purpose of this payment? “A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy. “Q. But isn’t that stimulating the economy of China ? “A. Shut up.” Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely: • If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China . • If you spend it on gasoline it will go to Hugo Chavez, the Arabs and Al Queda • If you purchase a computer it will go to Taiwan . • If you purchase fruit and veggies, it will go to Mexico, Honduras, Chile, and Guatemala . • If you buy a car it will go to Japan and Korea . • If you purchase prescription drugs it will go to India • If you purchase Taliban&Afghanistan heroin it’ll go to the • If you give it to a charitable cause, it will go to Nigeria . • And none of it will help the American economy. We need to keep that money here in America . You can keep the money in America by spending it at yard sales, going to a baseball game, or spend it on beer (domestic ONLY), or tattoos, since those are the only businesses still in the US. |
