Syrett 679-8687 or Helen Willis was delighted to report the birth of her third great-great-granddaughter, bom to her Great-granddaughter Amy and husband Ken. The beautiful little girl was named Jazmyn and was born on November 6, 2006 in Reno, Nevada. She has as sister, Jade, at home to keep her company. Helen's grandson, Robbie Copple and his wife Pam are the grandparents. They also live in Reno. Henry and Ann Martinez are the Greatgrandparents. Ann is Helen's daughter and they live in Sparks, Nevada. Helen said she can hardly wait to get to see and hold this precious new baby. Congratulations go out to Steve and Kassidy Floyd on the birth of their first adorable son, Moxin. He comes home to two older sisters, Kenni and Kelcie, and everyone is so excited. Greg Richards of Tropic is the Grandfather, Rhoda Shafer of Henrieville is a greatgrandmother and Floyd and Alaska Richards of Tropic are also great-grandparents. We are glad to hear that Kade Shakespear of Kanab, Utah and the grandson of Lylian Shakespear Le Fevre, is doing very well after being in a very serious car accident in Kanab. Kade is the son of Greg and Brenda Shakespear and the grandson of Lyllian and also Clare and MaryLee Ramsay of Tropic. The car he was in was knocked broadside by another car and when it landed, Kade seemed to be under it. It was lifted off the boy by a large man who happened on the scene. He seems to be doing very well now and will be going back to school full time soon. He is also a great-grandson of Rhoda Shafer of Henrieville. The report from Henrieville was that of 120 registered voters that 100 of them came out to vote. That is a wonderful turnout Helen Willis reports. Shane Pollock, son of Jerry and Carol Pollock of Tropic, was in Iraq serving as an Emergency Medical Person when the helicopter they were in was shot at and hit. They were on their way to pick up a wounded soldier when the copilot was shot. Shane did medical treatment on him to keep him alive until they returned to base. The copilot was then shipped to Germany for more needed help to recover. Shane reports that the soldier made it through okay. Shane is now out of Iraq much to his family's relief and his wife as well. Charlie and Eva Dean Francisco went for three days to St. George to attend the Temple. While there they were able to do the work for Charlie's sister, Lola Gibson and had her sealed to her parents. Nephew Pete Alvey y^s also vickidiane36@hotmail.com sealed to his parents at this time. They did a lot of work while there, 102 marriages, 106 girl sealings, and 148 son sealings. Eva Dean was also able to find out how to get the temple cottage for members that care to stay down and do their work. Charlie was able to go see Dr. Green after his surgery and was told he could ride his horse again as long as he is careful and doesn't get bucked off. Eva Dean said they had a wonderful time in St. George and hope to go again very soon. Sandrea Francisco, and her mom Eva Dean Francisco, picked up Helena Mortensen and her sons Charles and William and then met Robyn and her daughters, Cheri Ann and ShanDee Griffin. They met at Tuacahn and went to the Halloween Program and had a lot of fun and enjoyed the show. Glenna Fletcher went to St. George for a few days. She stayed with her mother, Marie Broderick. Glenna spent a few days at the Family History Center doing work on her ancestry and spent some time at the St. George Temple. Her sister, Janeen Ledoux had a birthday while she was there so they celebrated that. Glenna said she had a great time with her family, doing research, and attending the Temple. Kathy Fletcher threw a 2nd birthday party for her twins, AnaCa and William. Dad is Matt Fletcher. While Kathy was making preparations for the celebration, grandfather, Larry Fletcher was busy tending the kids and having a great time. Happy Birthday to the two year olds. Grandparents are Larry and Glenna Fletcher and A.C. and Rita Hammer. Joe Hughes was out delivering the Lion's Club birthday calendars. He wanted to let the people who put on the Veteran's Day program at the.Bryce Valley High School Auditorium did an excellent job. Tyson Brinkerhoff and his students did all the work of gathering names and pictures of the veterans of the Bryce Valley Area so that they could be honored at the program. All of their names and pictures, where available, were displayed on a screen for all to see. Principal Earl Slack welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming. Student Cache Mortensen was in charge of the posting of the colors. The Elementary kids sang for the Veteran's. Brett Chynoweth gave a moving speech about the Importance of the Flag and what it meant (means) to all servicemen and women. A demonstration on folding the flag was given and the meanings of each fold was told. Servicemen Jeremy Gerber and Steve Littlefield folded the flag while Brett gave his talk. Phoebe Wiseman, a faculty member, and class president Kasey Shakespear presented a flag for the class of 2006-2007. Buzz Harmon accepted the flag on behalf of all the veterans.
