Dutson FILLMORE ' I by STELLA DAY has week this last crowded in so many special events that it is difficult for us to attend all of the events which are planned for us. Each week has special brought events such as Fathers and Sons outings, Boy Scouts Camping trips, family canning, picnics in the different parks, besides dozens of family reunions. I am especially happy for the family reunions as the members of these familes purchase edicopies of our D.U.P. tion of Builders of Early Millard. Family members who live in different states learn of this book for the first time, as descendants of these early settlers are scattered all over the United States and only learn about this publication when they come back to Millard County for a family reunion. Those of us who have been involved in the paChief Kanosh geant from the beginning have just witnessed its performance for the fourth year and we are all just bursting with pride over the perfection of this year's performance. Each member of the cast of over 100 did his part to perfection. Each yearly performance sees some some made, changes scenes are delted and others added, but always the performance is improved by these changes. The performance would do credit to professionals, perhaps some of the performers are missing their calling. It just goes to prove how much talent some people possess if they are just given the chance to develop that talent. Arent we lucky to have the beautiful park and the amphitheatre to give all of the inMillard of habitants to dea chance County velop their many talents if we are just interested enough to put forth that effort. The setting of the stage with the hills background where the lights can follow the on their horses for long distances, and isnt it thrilling to watch! It is a setting that is very difficult to duplicate and we should all be happy it. to help maintain Many families set the time for their family reunion to coincide with the date of the performance of the Pageant in order that the members could attend. It is hoped that the Pageant will be a yearly event for many years to come. One thing this performance taught us was to check main events to make sure that we do not plant two or three events for the same evening. The first night of the pageant (Thursday evening) was also the Stake Relief Societys Celestial Arts Awards night; this event took 400 over attendants, under the direction of the Fillmore Stake Relief Society with Melinda Whitaker, Stake Relief Society President. A member of the General Relief Society Board set the theme of the meetWoing. Her talk was mans Place in Todays in Articles Society. Cultural and Domestic Arts were on display. The Stake Relief Society Choir furnished the muunder the direcsic, tion of Rita Giles. The articles displayed were of unusual quality and once again proved the talents of the residents of this area. The Millard County Fair held in Deseret this weekend also proved the outstanding abilities of the residents of Millard County. It is really inspiring to visit the fair and view the handiwork of its talented men, women and children. We are lucky to live in a big county with plenty of productive land, for us to raise all of the food we need if we just work diligently enough.
