Natural Resources-Encrg- y As a member of the House Interior Committee, Sherm Lloyd has been a strong voice in encouraging the wise development and use of Utahs abundant natural resources. Together with a Wyoming Congressman, he encouraged the Department of Interior to adopt an oil shale leasing program. This program is now underway. He has urged a policy or proper development of other resources to meet the nations energy needs, which are growing critical. He has encouraged construction of the proposed Kaiparowits power project for southern Utah, consistent with proper protection of the environment. A Department of Interior study on the project is now |
