Show FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS AIRS HELEN ASHMAN mrs helen dame ashman born in fillmore january 13 1872 1972 and passed away at the home of 0 her son floyd in salt lake city sunday morning august the deceased spent most ot of her life in fillmore where she endeared herself to her neighbors and friends by her sweet kindly disposition and by her devotion to her family she was married about thirty seven years ago to john T ashman also of fillmore who preceded her to the great beyond several years ago she left fillmore about 1915 and made her home in salt lake city up tip until about three years ago when she went to los angeles to be with her daughters who were in business there for the past three years she has been in tailing failing health and altho she consulted several specialists they were not able to give her much relief from het her ailments she came back to fillmore in june thinking perhaps the change and the higher altitude would improve her condition floyd and his wife came down to spend the fourth with her and she returned with them but was immediately after taken seriously III and remained in that condition until she passed away all the children except mildred who was unable to be there were with her almost constantly tor for the past few weeks of her life she Is survived by the following children J wesley of fillmore mrs airs lavon gopher copher and mrs airs Al mildred ildred thompson ol of los angeles floyd of salt lake city and J N of ogden by three grand children and also by one brother roy dame of fillmore funeral services were held in the tha fillmore second ward chapel wednesday august 31 at 3 P r al bishop claude robins presiding the choir sang we ve shall meet what voice salutes the startled ear with mrs airs edna L day as soloist and jesus lover of my soul A ladies chorus under the direction of mrs airs stella day sang it wits was for me ale the invocation was offered by peter L brunson and the benediction by ernest Cal calking ring the speakers were grover A giles and wm D Af melville elville mr air giles spoke in a touching way ot of the love he held tor for mrs airs ashman and the family as friends and neighbors lie he paid a 1 tribute to her motherhood reading some sentiments that expressed in a beautiful way the great mission she great mission she has performed mr air melvillee Mel villes talk was along the same lines lie he also paid lin his respects to the family for their devotion to each other and particularly mentioned tile the mothers great devotion to her children the second ward chapel was tilled filled to capacity with mourning friends and relatives the casket was banked high on every side with beautiful floral cloral offerings which betokened the love and esteem in which she was vias held in this community interment was in the fillmore cemetery six of her nephews harold everett and dale ashman and mllton milton rex and lincoln melville acted as pall bearers |
