Those women whohav9 not had a recent pyhslcal checkup should avail themselves to this opportunity, a unit American CancerSocletyspokesman said. The clinic, a cancer detection, does not provide treatment. Its purpose Is to educate women to the seven warning signals of cancer and to teach self examination. Results of the examination, Including the Pap smear, are turned over to the womans private family physician. Family doctors are notified Immediately where symptoms Indicate a follow-u- p examination Is necessary. A team of volunteer doc-tand nurses directed by os W. Knox Fitzpatrick, Jr., MD and Chairman of the Virginia Whitney Clinics will give free and uterine examinations during the day-loclinic. Clinics concentrate on these two types of cancer because they are the most frequent forms of malignancy to strike Utah women and because they can be successfully treated If caught In the early stages of the disease. Clinics are a part of the Virginia Whitney Memorial Project and sponsored by the Utah Division of the Cancer Society. In the past three years aim liar locally-sponsed clinics have provided examination services to 6,'M breast ng or Utahs women. Nine similar Clinics are scheduled at other areas throughout the state this year. Home For The Weekend JUDGE C. NELSON DAY, Salt Lake City, Joined his son David In Fillmore for the weekend.
