Show LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS AIRS BIRDIE S BLACK funeral services for or mrs birdie S black were held in the second ward chapel sunday february 12 under the auspices of 0 bishop henry hatton II atton appropriate music was rendered by the choir a violin solo by miss aliss olive brunson and a duet duct by mrs airs stella day and mrs airs blonda knight they were accod accompanied panted on the violin by alafi blanno e huntsman the speakers were don wixom A J T and edward L black invocation was offered by peter L brunson and benediction by frank robison interment was at the fillmore cemetery and a large cortege followed the body the casket was bedded in profuse floral display many beautiful wreaths were sent from out of town mrs birdie S robison black Is the daughter of benjamin 11 robison and susannah turner robison and was born march 7 1866 1865 at deseret where her father had been called by brigham young to help settle a new country at the age of three years she came to fillmore the family home with her father and mother her girlhood years were spent at fillmore where she attended the old millard academy and later taught school she helped her widowed mother care tor for a large family of younger brothers and sisters after her fathers death which occurred when she was 17 years old she married george warren black october 15 1885 in the st george temple mr air black died nove november m her 25 1925 she went with her husband to deseret and helped to settle the town of hinckley in 1897 the farn family ily returned to fillmore where she has since resided she was very active in church work throughout her life she is the mother of twelve children ten of whom survive her they are dr B W black oakland california wells black des moines iowa dr joel R black tucson arizona willis vernon loa hansen ora hansen fern St starley arIey all of fillmore clo hilton II ilton hinckley and joy black who is attending school at the B Y U all of the children were here tor for the funeral services except wells who was unable to get here she Is also survived by her aged mother mrs susannah T robison and the following brothers and sisters dr J C robison salt lake city mrs airs rose hinckley los angeles mrs airs zina kirkham new york city G A robison hinckley and joseph 11 robison moapa 40 grand children and one great grandchild she was a devoted wife and mother mether a thorough latter day saint and spent her life in loving service to all |
