By declaring a dividend of more than a quarter of - a million, dollars for thqlkst quarter of the yekrths eompanya total for 1911 la swelled to approximately $561,110. It la quite evlfcni that the earnings of the Tlqtlc Standard are I large and Ala but natural to suppose that much arger profits will be possible durlngvthe coming year. While the compear has been getting the benefits of nigh silver prices K must also be understood that expenses of he past year have 4 beisa mounting upward. The mine's hew railroad has cost a lot of money but now that it Is nearing completion it will mean a substantial reduction in operating costa. That the Tin tic Standard will make a wonderful record during 1910 and take its place among the really big mince of the world is the prediction of those who are most familiar with underground developments. Christmas Greeting To Readen Of The Reporter Another year, and a most eventful one for the Tintic Mining District, is fast drawing to a done and during this holiday season, when the feeling of friendship and good will extends throughout the land. The Reporter extends its Christmas greeting. During the entire twenty years that thia paper has been working in the interest of this mining district there has never been a time when the new year held out such glowing promises for those who have Invested their money in our mining entar- prises. The year 1919 has been a prosperous one for Tintic although ; mining operators have been working under serious handicaps which have prevented large profits. There Is no denying the fact, however, that our camps have suffered less during the reconstruction period than any of the other mining sections of the west, and with the vast amount of new work which has been planned for the ' coming year It is reasonable to suppose that Tintic will grow and prosper as It has never done before. j I EUREKA, JUAB COUNTY, UTAH, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 26, 1919. Tintic Advertised In Xmas line Of Balt Lake Paper Elaborate Entertainment Is Given By Masonic Lodge WiH Tintic came in for liberal publicity in the Christmas Issue of the Deseret News, which waa sent out last Saturday evening. Long ago this paper established a reputation for usually fine holiday numbers and the one for 1919 was an excellent paper from-everpoint of view. 1 number of pages in last Saturdays issue of the News were devoted to our mines and prospects, the east side coming In for many columns of reading matter, cuts, etc. On one page waa a full size map of the mining claims of Tintic and spread across two other pages were panoramic pictures of sections of the district which have attracted so much attention during the past year or two. Few if hny of the newer companies owning ground in the eastern end of the district were overlooked and there is no question but what our camps will benefit from the publicity. of the most enjoyable Veins At ever given under the direction of the local Masonic fraternity was that of Monday evening. Commenting on what the next year has in store for Utah mining, they sy: "The past is only useful as a guide to the future, and when you take into account that practically all of the large buildings, in Balt Lake City, the founding of the banks, and other industries, owe their start to money made from mining, you can realise what the mining industry is to Utah. By that I mean legitimate mining. Where good ground has been developed systematically, and the finances provided whereby the objective mineral tones could be reached, and developed, the opportunity for success is very favorable. To me the brightest outlook for results in the coming yesr are in the Tintic camp, for the reason that there la more development going on In that district at the present time than in any other mining camp in the United States. The production of about seven million ounces of silver, in 1915, will be largely Increased in 1920. Time was when there was a belief that there was only one ore channel in the Tintic camp, but developments have proved different, and now there is the east side of the camp, and the north end, offering opportunities for the development of larger mines than ever before. The opening of that wonderful property, the Tlntle Standard, has given geologists faith that the application of capital -- to the east and north sides of the camp will bring rich reward. Jn 1920 we look for great results from this territory and geologists are confident that a large number of the properties now doing their preliminary work, will open ore bodies and become dividend payers. The . Drift And Cnt Paymaster the ore in adjoining will be cut at considerably greater depth.
