Show w john hupfer passes away john hupfer a well known resident and business man of this city died at his home last sunday night after a Nery ery brief illness from pneumonia he w was as taken sick on wednesday of last week and while his condition was qu te serious for a couple of daa daa s pre to his death the announcement that he be had passed away came as a ead sad surprise to mana man friends on sun day evening mr hupfer was 52 years of age having been bom boin in pennsylvania in 1858 two years ago be became came west and located at marys marysvale vale ale mon tana about 17 years ago he moved I 1 is fan fail ily to mammoth and a few ears later came to eureka and en ell in the hotel business babit g a lease upon the hatfield hotel for a number dumber of ears after agn gi ing up the hotel business mr hupfer followed mining and operated a d lease in the eureka eurela hill mine he acted as in manager of the opera house bereford here bere fora for a number of years and for two iwo ears has been conducting a moving picture show at this place at the time of his death he was u as engaged in the amov ing picture business and in addition to his show at the opera house had a lease upon the elks pavilion for amov ing picture purposes ies the funeral services atthe at the family residence on wednesday afternoon wem were attended by several hundred people the service was taken en the ritual of odd fellows and was under the direction of noble grand robert adamson and chaplain walter henry of eureka lodge no 12 the members of this order attending in a body and marching to the city cemetery where the last sad rites were performed and the remains placed in their final resting place the pall bearers were adam Sw elgert A G gimle al moore moor e william tite frank barret and W F shriver all members of the local lodge of odd fellows and warm pe ronal friends of the deceased the floral offerings from the lodges and friends were numerous and ful almost entirely covering the casket the deceased leaves a wife and daughter miss mabel hupfer two brother heidin res idin I 1 in kansas and a number of other ther 0 I 1 relatives and many friends to mourn his sudden demise he was a past noble gr grand d in the local lodge of odd fellows and al at wa a took look a great inte interest rest in the work of the order the reporter joins with mith other friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family |
