Not only is she excellent in comprehension, she is a great reader and writer. Congratulations to her on all her achievements. She is the daughter of Leslie Horton. j Notice is hereby' given that the Eureka City Council will hold its regular council meeting on MONDAY, January 14, 2002 at the Eureka City Offices, IS North Church Street, which meeting shall begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. The agenda includes the roll, call, approval of the minutes, treasurers reports, claims against the city, report of officers and committees, introduction and adoption of resolutions and ordinances, unfinished business, new business, miscellaneous, and adjournment. The report of officers and committees includes reports by Fred Garbctt; Fred L. Garbctt, Fire Chief; and Lynn Elliott Animal Control Officer. Unfinished business includes James Booth, Trailer in Sharps Trailer Court. New business includes Adoption of Parity Water Revenue Bonds and Authorize Fred Garbctt to sign for money from state for water. At the Board Meeting of Tintic School District Board of Education, the Superintendent reported to the Board the amounts that students and adults pay to purchase breakfast at school. She explained the amount presently being charged may not be sufficient to cover costs. asked the Board to consider whether or not the amount should be increased. After some discussion, the Board said they would like to have some documentation on the costs of the breakfast and how many students and adults arc participating. They also wrant to know how many students pay for breakfast. She THS basketball Basketball is well underway! The girls have played THS ra 7 games already and will play Wcndovcr on January 15,h at home. The JV will start at 4: IS p.m. and Varsity will start at 6 p.m. The boys have played 8 games and will play East Carbon tonight, January 1 1 at home. The JV starts at 5:15 and Varsity at 7:00 p.m. They also play on January 1 6th at Wcndovcr. Not only has she gotten 100 in our home reading program since the beginning of the year, she has also read 7 times a week instead of 5 on several weeks. Ms. Bullard reported that the Utah Schools Counselors Association strongly support the maintenance ofthe SEOP and SEP as a law in the State of Utah. Ms. Bullard suggested that the Board contact cr write their state representatives to show support for the continuance of the SEOP and SEP law. The Board voted to write a letter to the legislative representatives to support the SEOP and SEP conferences. Troy Jones reported the girls basketball team were organizing some half time activities during the games in order to raise some extra money toward uniforms and equipment. Superintendent said the district would support the half time activities. The Superintendent reported that the upcoming legislative session holds some real concerns for school districts. She reported she will continue to update the Board on forthcoming legislative issues regarding education and how it will affect the District. 20lh, 2001. Superintendent recommended that due to the decline in student enrollment a West Desert schools this year, the position be filled by using staff already working for the district. Following executive session the Board voted to realign with existing personnel to fill this position, Seniors meet The Young at Heart Seniors Citizens started 2002 on the first Wednesday of January. Though few in numbers, wc enjoyed a delicious pot luck. Our new President Grace Condcr conducted and Ron Cones asked for the blessing on the food. After eating, wc pledged allegiance to our beautiful American flag and then had our business meeting. It was proposed and approved to have the Senior Citizen of the Year dinner catered. A reminder of paying dues. Next meeting will be J anuary 1 6,h, with lunch cooked by Mary' Lou, Francis, and Dorothy. The board meeting will prccccdit at 10:00.
