Volume EUREKA, UTAH - April 17, 1998 Ninety-Thre- e School district sets up foundation to accept gifts The Tintic School District has set up the Tintic School District Education Foundation for the benefit of the students in the Tintic District. This Foundation has been set up so that money or supplies can be to the District to further the students education and These funds can be experiences. set up "In Memory" of a loved one, alumnist or on the basis of philanthropy alone. Donations can be made to your chosen area of education or activities, such as: West DesertTintic High baseball fields, Drama Arts department, ScienceMaths and Literature, etc. Donations in any of these areas would be greatly appreciated and wisely used to benefit the students of Tintic School District. Schools throughout the do-ant- . ed state often establish partnerships with businesses and organizations within their area. Schools in Eureka are grateful to the Elks, Senior Citizens, Historical Society, Ambulance Association, V&Js, and Carpenter Station, as well as other organizations that help our schools out. As a small community we are limited by the number and size of our donating entities. All donations will be in the care of Brenda Sutherland, business administrator. The L.O.E. would like to honor all widows of Tintic till 1 Elks. They will have a luncheon and program on June 27, 1998 in honor of these women. After their meeting was adjourned, the ladies dyed Easter eggs and prepared for the Easter Egg Hunt which was held at Eureka City Park, April 11th. Despite the weather, there was a good turnout. The adoption of a merit pay plan this past year, is reflected in the salaries for Juab County officials and employees for 1998. Seniority affects the salary of hired employees but does not affect the salaries of those who are elected to office. Elected officials receive the salary set by Juab County Commissioners for the job they do. "When compared with other counties of the approximate size," said Joseph Bernini, commission chair, "our salaries are low." The excess water into the sewer system causes havoc with the normal action of the disposal system, he says. (Leap Year Baby). We celebrated Feb. 28th anyway with presents and phone calls. She still lives on the Island of Okinawa, but has visited Eureka twice and Cowen, West Virginia once. She has racked up more flyer miles in her short life than most of us do in a lifetime. Joannah and her parents will be moving back to the States in May, where they will be stationed in Alamogordo, New Mexico. (Maybe then my phone bill will become more realistic). We are planning a reception on May 9th to introduce her father Jeromy, and to celebrate her parents marriage. Lisa and Jeromy were married on Okinawa in 1995. This will be our first opportunity to share their happiness with others. We are why is paid a salary of $43,605.72. All hourly employees at the courthouse are paid $8.37 to $8.88 an hour. The road supervisor is paid $30,363.72 and salaried employees for the road department are paid from $22,877.76 to $27,539.52. Hourly employees of the road department receive $8.70 per hour. The economic development director is paid $30,956.04 and the computer specialist is paid $3,200.52.
