Volume Ninety EUREKA, UTAH --MARCH 10, 1995 Number 10 Price $.40 Area businesses honored for community efforts Fifth Annual Installation and Recognition Banquet, conducted February 22 at the Co-o- p Building, Ephraim, the Six County Economic Development District (SCEDD) and Panoramaland Resource Conservation and Development Council (RC&D) honored area businesses and community leaders for their exceptional effort and contribution to economic and community development. Intcrmountain Power Project (IPP) was presented with the regional economic development award. They were recognized for the tremendous economic impact through direct and indirect employment in the Six County area. Accepting the award in behalf of the company were Mr. and Mrs. Recce Nielson, and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Olsen. Mayor Keith Gillins, Fillmore City and Chair of the Board and Council made the presentation. Richfield City was presented with the regional beautification award. Mayor Gillins also made this presentation and recognized the city for their recent completion of their southwest project and their exceptional planning effort and implementation process toward meeting their beautification goals and objectives. Accepting the award and travelling trophy in behalf of Richfield City were Mayor Paul Lyman and Mr. Woody Farnsworth, City Administrator. Jenkins Sales and Service was recognized for the significant economic strength they provide to Juab County. Mr. Golden Mang-elsoChairman of the Juab Economic Development Agency made the presentation. Mr. and Mrs. Paul McPherson, Owners, received the award in behalf of the company. Sunrise was Engineering honored for their contribution to the economic vitality of Millard County. Accepting the award in behalf of the company were Mr. and Mrs. Aldcn Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. Vcrn Fisher, Millard County Commissioner, Tony Dcardcn made the presentation. Mr. Bennett "Ben" Black, was recognized for the great supportive role he plays in the economic and community development endeavors of Piute County. Commissioner Don Julandcr, Piute County, presented Mr. Black with the award. Johansen Construction Company, Mt. Pleasant, was honored for the significant employment they create and economic strength the company provides to Sanpete County. Commissioner Robert Bcsscy, Sanpete County, made the presentation. Redmond Clay and Salt Company was recognized by Sevier County. They were honored for their great expansion efforts through product development and total quality management (TQM) endeavors which has greatly enhanced the economic vitality of Sevier and surrounding counties. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Bosshardt and Mr. and Mrs. Brendon Bosshardt, OwncrsManagcrs. received the award in behalf of the company. Mr. Richard Lcyba, Director of the Sevier County Economic Development Committee, made the presentation. Royals Foodtown was honored from Wayne County. Mr. and Mrs. Newell llarward and Mr. and Mrs. Gaylcn Rees, Owners, received the award for the company. The presentation was made by Commissioner Meeks Morrell, Wayne County. The company was honored for the economic strength they have brought to the county through their recent expansion efforts. Recognition was given to outgoing members Mr. Cliff Bu sh, Mr. Vince Crawford, Mr. Jcrold Johnson, and Mr. Virgc Christensen. Beverly Christensen received the recognition award for her late husband, Virgc, who passed away last March. Mr. Kent Larsen was introduced as a new board and council member. The recognition banquet is sponsored annually by the Six County Economic Development District Board and Panoramaland Resource conservation and Development Council. 1995 membership include: Mayor Chcslcy Christensen, Chair - Ml.
