The project will close the only access into the popular campground from approximately March 14 to the end of April. "Campers that normally stay at White Sands will need to consider alternative sites for the next month or so," said Rowley. "Fortunately, the Oasis Campground, Jericho Picnic Ground, Sand Mountain and numerous dispersed undeveloped campsites offer campers lots of options within the 60,000-acr- e Little Sahara Recreation Area," he said. According to Rowley, me project was scheduled for this time of year to take advantage of moist soil conditions. The contract for the road project has been awarded to Cox Rock Products Inc.
