Board mem Clerk. w Area students shine in district spelling bee William Sullivan, an eighth grader at Tintic High School won first place in the Tintic District Jackie Ezell, a Spelling Bee. sixth grader at Eureka Elementary, won second place and Misty Allred, a sixth grader from the West Desert School, won third place. The ten finalists from Eureka fourth grade, Schools were: Jcsica Eva and Danny Young; fifth grade, Summer Grimstcad and Cody Myers; sixth grade, Jackie Ezell and Heidi Ncdre-berseventh grade, Travis g; and Tirzah Sullivan; Haynes eighth grade, William Sullivan and Drake Underwood. On Friday, March 4, these students traveled to the Callao School to compete against eleven West Desert finalists. Congratulations to all of these students for a job well done. The spelling list contained some very very diffi- cult words and these students did a fantastic job. William Sullivan will now compete in the State Spelling Bee in Salt Lake on March 25. Good Luck, William! beautification award Nephi City was the recipient of the SCEDDs Beautification Award during the Fourth Annual Six County Recognition and Installation Banquet, conducted February 23 at the Road Creek Inn Restaurant, Loa. The event, sponsored by the Six County Economic Development Distric Board (SCEDD) and the Panora-malan- d Resource Conservation and Development Council (RC&-D- ) was initiated to recognize exceptional effort demonstrated by individuals and businesses contributing to the areas economic growth and community and objectives. Accepting the award and travelling trophy in behalf of Nephi City were Milton Harmon, City Councilman, and Mr. Philip Baker, Parks and Cemetery Supervisor. In 1993 Nephi City completed the second phase of a community beautification effort. This project started with citizens being in- volved in a community masterplan process and a strategic planning effort.
