Show Page Four - The Eureka Reporter - March 4, 1994 T2LK Tom and Clco Judge returned from their annual trip South. Cleo writes this account of their trip... "First stop was the Virgin River in Mesquite where I was lucky enough to pick up some pin money. Next stop was Las Vegas, where we visited with daughter, Alice, her husband, Nilo, and children, Daniel and Amanda (Villamar). Then we headed to Phoenix via Lake Havasu, just to see how the city had grown and changed since our last visit there several years ago. In Phoenix, we visited Mr. and Mrs. Foster Huff (my broth- er). After reliving memories for two days it was time to move on to Tucson to visit friends, Ken and Paula, who gave us the grand tour of the large, beautiful homes on the many hills, to the small huts on the reservation. We also visited a beautiful cathedral on the reservation.. built in 1686.. that is now being restored. The art work on the walls and ceiling is unbelievable, since it is out in the middle of nowhere. In another direction on the reservation, we visited a casino run by the Indians, and I left some of the Virgin River money there. Next stop was Yuma to say "hello" to Phil and Colleen White. (They sent greetings to all their friends). Ray and Dora Hansen were not at home. We made our yearly ritual to Mexico to gather a few unnecessary things.. then on to Blythe, CA, where we stayed while visiting Bob and Fawn Fife in Quartzite. The big rock and gem show was over but there was still plenty to see. Bob and Fawn said to say "hello" to everyone. It was then time to head home, via Las Vegas and Mesquite to return some of their money. Arrived home to find out our timing was good.. we missed the big storm and our great neighbors, Kay Sorensen and Larry Ewell, had our driveway cleared for us to drive right in. It was a fun trip but we're always happy to be home." Gregorys, Blue and Gold Boy Scout Banquet, held at the Bene-vgn- u Center at St. Vincent de Paul Parish. But a few people still have questions about expanding Utahs sales tax exemption on manufacturing equipment. asked me why Somebody manufacturers should get a special "break" while retailers and other businesses pay sales taxes on their equipment. Another person suggested eliminating the sales tax on food before removing sales tax on all manufacturing equipment. One legislator said we dont need the exemption because employers are already coming to Utah for low costs and reliable workers. And public educators claim we cannot afford to eliminate this penalty tax because Utah spends too little on education. Recirculated air, reduced air pressure and dryness all may cause problems for travelers. Heres what you can do to stay healthy, according to Corporate Travel magazine: 1) Drink eight ounces of water per hour while youre in the air; 2) Avoid alcohol, caffeine or soft drinks; 3) An air filter mask may protect you from germs if you dont mind looking slightly conspicuous; 4) Bring bottled water with you on international flight; 5) Try not to fly if youre already sick or coming down with something; 6) Take your contact lenses out. Cabin air dries out the eyes; 7) The flu normally spreads between November and April in the U.S., so be especially careful during those months. "Uh-Oh!- ". "Uh-Ohs- !"
