Show Page Two - The Eureka Reporter - November 12. 1993 History volunteers gain recognition Letters to the Editor Reader praises Mayor Treloar Dear Editor: I started working with Eureka City Mayors in 1961 , with Eureka Fire Department, Eureka Ambulance Association and doing City hackhoe work. I served on the City Council and four years as Mayor. In these thiry-tw- o years, I have never seen a more honest, dedicated and committed Mayor than Don Treloar. The time he has spent, the manual labor he has performed, the donation of his salary back to the City, and the attention he has paid to citizens of the community, is unparalleled. We have worked together to acquire equipment for the City such as a back hoe, loader, rodding machine, etc., without the aid of any State or Federal programs, to meet E.P.A. and other mandates as straightforward as possible, along with countless other issues, and I say "thanks, Don".. you will be missed. fire-tnic- k, Fred Garbett Eureka City Manager Seniors have a ball at Halloween party The Eureka Senior Citizens' Club met in the Memorial Building for their annual Halloween Party. V PMore Town Talk Ned and Dorothy Allinson and family spent the deer hunt at their cabin out west. The weather was beautiful and shirtsleeve attire was sufficient in the daytime. Lots of good food and visiting was enjoyed by all. For the first time in years, most of the family were able to be together during the hunt. Some didnt have permits for the Unit but still came to camp. Those present were: Bob and sons, Bobby and Corey; Glen and Launa and Jackie, Trent and Tyce; Randy, Margaret and Autumn; Stormy, Klay and Cole; and Chad. Stormy and Randy were the only ones to get their bucks, but all felt that was a pretty good percentage considering the few deer that were seen. Ned and Dorothy stayed 12 days and toured every canyon on the South side of the Sheeprock Lots range on their of beautiful scenery, but no deer.
