SFC Ronald Linton at the Springville Armory stresses that the in-o- and mediately wished we could have our tongues summarily removed? I once referred to an ethnic group in a slighting fashion, thinking at the time it was humorous, and learned a few minutes later that a long time associate (he was present) was a member of that ethnic group. The damage was done. I could not recall the very bad taste of the comment. And the worst part of it was, it really did not reflect my deep down opinion of that group..its just that my mouth was in motion without having my mind in gear. Remember the old fable about the person who said something he regretted and then sought advice from his counselor about how he could make amends? The counselor told him to scatter a bag of feathers to the four winds and then attempt to gather them up again..thats how impossible it was to recall his thoughtless words. Nuf sed!
