| Show f J Jf jJ W t 7 t l j r r I 1 j 9 r rI y I TRAVELS OF A HALF DOLLAR In Cn 19 Years a Marked Coin Was Waa Twice Heard From George Sizer r a popular young man was run over by a fire engine in Harrodsburg Harrodsburg Harrodsburg Har- Har Ky in August 1884 and received injuries that proved fatal Ten years rears after his death a letter addressed to him w was s turned over to his mother Mrs Mary Sizer It was WIlS written by a man in Now New York who stated that he ho had come In possession of half a doll dollar r with the name George Sizer r Harrodsburg Ky stamped on it and if It was of any value to him to send 50 cents and he would return the coin Mrs Sizer was ill at the time and the letter was never answered The coin Is still still- in circulation for In November 1903 another letter came here addressed to George Sizer It was dated Baltimore Md and the writer stated that her company was filling an engagement at a theater in that city and two nights before some admirers had tossed several coins on the stage among them a cent 50 piece with his Sizer's name Dame on It that if he desired she would send the coin Mrs Mark MarIe Sizer Size has sent 50 cents for forthe forthe forthe the coin This letter was dated Nov 27 the nineteenth anniversary o o Mr Sizer's death New New York Herald |
