Show Eva Wallace laid to rest Eva Andrea Christensen Wallace Wallace Wallace Wal Wal- lace a native of Ephraim and descendent of Sanpete County pioneer settlers died of ot pneumonia pneumonia pneumonia monia May 19 1972 at the Utah Valley Hospital Mrs Wallace was born November 6 1905 at the family residence where she resided at the time of her death She was the daughter of the late Fredrick William and Amelia Jensen Christensen and grand granddaughter daughter of John A A. A and Petra Jensen and of well-known well Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim artist C. C C. C A. A Christensen Christensen Chris Chris- and Eliza Christensen Eva was the sixth of seven children Her fath father r died when she was five years old and she accepted and carried out unusual unusual un unusual un- un usual responsibilities In helping helping helping help help- ing her widowed mother rear the family When she was was 13 she had the complete care of ofa ofa ofa a family of five children and she supported herself through high school with child chUd care and house cleaning jobs She grew up In Ephraim and attended city schools She graduated graduated graduated grad grad- from Snow College where she was elected student body vice president and served In Inthe Inthe inthe the capacity of president when the elected president dropped out of school After graduating from Snow College she taught school in Goshen Ephraim and Crescent Utah On July 10 she married Sidney Herbert Wallace a native native na na- na tive of Dulwich England who grew up In Australia He survives survives survives sur sur- vives her They had seven children children chil chil- dren Robert C. C Rexburg Idaho Idaho Idaho Ida Ida- ho Don S S. S Orem John F. F Anaheim California Mrs Ronald Ronald Ronald Ron Ron- ald E. E Eva Marie Tempe Arizona Mrs Heber J. J Patricia Ann Loveland Las Vegas Nevada William Dean Salt Lake City and Mrs Stephen J. J Martha Jean Noyes Spring Spring- ville There are 22 grandchildren She is also survived by a brother Joseph William Christensen Ephraim and a sister Gladys Marie Hansen Spanish Fork Mrs Wallace was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter Saints She taught Sunday School for 37 continuous years from 1918 to 1955 She has since taught in all the auxiliary organizations organizations of the church Thirty years after she graduated graduated graduated grad grad- from Snow College she returned to school to earn her Bachelor degree In 1962 sho was awarded the bachelor of science degree In education bythe bythe by bythe the Brigham Young University where she was an honor stu stu- dent She taught school in the Mohave Mohave Mohave Mo- Mo have County Arizona School District for 11 years until she retired In 1968 The family had returned to Ephraim three years earlier but Eva spent the school terms in Arizona to complete her teaching com com- Mr and Mrs Wallace were called to a Manti Mantl Temple mission mission mist mis mis- sion in August of t 1968 Mrs Wallace became ill with pneumonia In February of 1971 As she was recovering she was found sound to have a faulty valve In her heart and subsequently suffered suffered suf suf- several heart attacks In October of 1971 she underwent underwent underwent under under- went open heart surgery to re repair repair repair re- re pair the heart damage that had occurred She was never again to regain her full strength and capacities In April 1972 she suffered a severe case of in influenza influenza influenza in- in which developed into the pneumonia which took her life lUe May 19 at the Utah Valley Hospital Hospital Hos Hos- pital In Provo Funeral services were held May 23 at 1 pm p.m. in the Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim West Ward chapel The family prayer prior to the funeral was given by John Wal Wal- lace Bishop Richard R.
