J Seldon Hansen Ephraim na native native native na- na tive and resident here for many years ars Mr Hansen 67 died in inthe inthe inthe the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City last Friday night af after after after af- af ter a lingering illness He was born in Ephraim Dec 23 1891 son SOI of Rasmus and Sarah Dorius Hansen He married married mar mar- ried Gladys M. M Christensen Feb 20 1918 in the Salt Lake Tem Tem- He was a vet veteran ran of the MexIcan Mexican Mex Mex- ican lean campaign and of World War WarI I seeing considerable action in inthe inthe inthe the latter In Ephraim he had served as commander of American Legion Post as secretary of the Ephraim Irrigation Co and was associated with his father Inthe in inthe inthe the Consolidated Wagon and Machine Co here When the Ephraim West Ward was first organized he served as ward clerk with P. P C. C Peterson as first bishop of the ward He managed the Con Wagon branch in Spanish Fork for 18 years and had also been a city coun councilman ilman there He was ac active active active ac- ac tive in Church work In both communities He is survived survived- survived survived-by by his widow one daughter Mrs LeGrand Betty Darling and three grandchildren grandchildren grandchildren grand grand- children all of Spanish Fork one brother Ora L. L Hansen and a sister Mrs Rex Melba Jensen both Of Salt Lake City Funeral services were held at noon Tuesday in the Spanish Fork Second-Ninth Second Ward chapel Here Gordon Christensen Christen Christen- sen of Ephr Ephraim im offered the prayer prayer pray pray- pray pray- er in the home and Ward Magleby Magle- Magle by formerly of ManU Manti pronounced pronoun pronoun- ced the benediction At the graveside service P. P C. C P Peterson terson was the speaker Mrs Bertha Ogden and daughter Carol sang a duet O 0 My Fa Father Father Father Fa- Fa ther and Seymour Christensen said the graveside prayer Members Members Mem Mem- bers ers of the F E American Legion conducted the graveside military rites while Legionnaires from Spanish Fork acted as pall bearers After the burial burfal rites the out- out town of-town friends gathered with relatives at the home of Mrs Zella ZelIa Christensen en for refreshments refreshments refreshments refresh refresh- ments before returning to their homes |
