P Thompson Passes After Illness i. i Of f Long Duration Wesley Peter Thompson 56 i sportsman t b business us 1 ness man church worker and civic leader died at athis his home in Ephraim Monday forenoon after a prolonged ill ill- i r ness His death came just a 1 week after that of his sister Effie Mr Thompson known to everyone everyone everyone ev- ev as Wes was born in Fx 4 Ep Ephraim raIm Feb 11 1902 son of Peter and Maria P Pet Peterson e t e r s son o n nf f Thompson Thompson- He Ha grew up here attending local schools and graduated graduated gra- gra dusted from Snow College He taught school for one year and 0 then wept into business He has tr been the Sanpete distributor for forthe the Sinclair Oil Refining Comi Company Com Com- i MY pany for 23 years He was one of the most ardent ardent ar- ar r. r dent boosters f for r the Bluebell Ski area and personally saw to tow I w H many of the improvements there t He also worked for a better road load to the area and for improvement Improvement Im- Im provement of mountain roads In general A lover of the out-of- out doors he worked for more fishr fishing fishing fish- fish r ing ponds better stocking of existing ponds and streams for pheasant plantings and for feedIng feeding feeding feed feed- ing the pheasants during the fF hard winters o He lIe was elected to two four- four year terms as Ephraim City councilman completing his last term only last January but was unable to be at that final final meeting meeting meeting meet- meet ing of the outgoing council He lie was a member and past presIdent president president dent of the Ephraim Ephraim Ephraim- Lions Club i and was a member of the Ephraim Ephraim Eph- Eph J raim Business Association He had held various church positions including president of f the Young Mens Mutual Improvement Improvement Improvement Im- Im provement Association president dr 4 of the North Ward Elders quorum quorum quor- quor um urn and was teacher of that quorum at time of of his last illness ill- ill ness lie He had also done much work vork in Scouting f He lIe has always been very Interested in- in rested and active in civic affaIrs affairs af- af fairs and in community improvement Improvement improvement im- im provement and progress He lie was wasi i helpful and friendly to everyone He married Eva Christensen in the Manti Temple June 23 c c 1926 1926 He is survived by hisz his z J widow and three sons Peter z f of Murray who Is a practicing it pharmacist in Salt Lake City y 7 Kent who is a student at the Northwestern Dental School inand in l Chicago and Don who is a junior jun- jun lor at Manti High School by three grandchildren his year 92 old mother and his sister Gladys Gladysf f Thompson both of Ephraim and andt g t another sister Mrs Sena Bindig Bind- Bind 1 r i ig of Upper Marl Marlboro oro Maryland Funeral services were set for forn q n r. r Th Thursday at 2 p. p pm p.m. m. m in the Ephraim Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- J raim North Ward chapel Burial Burial Burial Bur- Bur ial in the Park Cemetery was was oA to be under the direction of ot the Buchanan Mortuary a f |
