Show A6 The Emery County Review, Tuesday, October 28, 2008 Students learn there are ‘better things to do than drugs’ during red ribbon week Kathy Ockey Red Ribbon - Drug Prevention week was held throughout the county this past week, with each elementary presenting different drug awareness programs to educate the students about the dangers of using drugs and about drug abuse. Castle Dale Elementary PTA President, Jodi Magnuson, said the theme for their school was, “Better things to do than drugs.” Each day the students participated in activities that went along with the them: wearing camouflage, wearing school T-shirts, hat day, and red bracelet day. Each one was used as a symbol to prevent drug abuse. On Friday the school had many different activities set up in both classrooms and various locations on the school grounds. These included: bingo, speed stacking, cupcake walk, leather punching, scrapbook and journals, roping, kickball and football.
