Mrs. Ada Nielsen of Ferron was in charge. Forty four participants were entered from all ever the county. The talent find was divided into three section- s- Croup cne was rural talent; Croup two, junior talent; and Group three, amateur talent. The winners in Group on: were Geraldine Stanton, first, with a ballet dance; Claudia Seeley, second, trumpet solo; Norah Litster, third, with a solo having a trio as background. In Group two winners were Mack Wilberg, first, piano solo; Killpack twins, second, dance; Elizabeth Ann Wcrthen, third, solo. Group three winners were The E C Fours Band John Nielsen, Ferron; Gregg Van Wagoner and Kerry Allred, Cleveland and Spencer Clegg. Huntington, first; a trio, Doris Behunin, Gayla Jensen and Janet Christensen, second; and the Albrecht sisters, Nancy, Karen and Harriet, third. The first place winner will compete at the Farm Bureau Talent Find at the State Fair on September 17. Judges for the talent find in Ferron were Doris Funk, Mrs Sandra Butcher and Mrs. Card Larsen, all of Ferron. a K, v ORANGEVILLE The building above is part of the elementary school at Orangeville. Half of the building is new classrooms that have been built during the summer. There are two new classrooms with 931 square feet of space in each, with a large hallway to make a total of 2600 square feet. The additions are almost complete and are now being used. Kent Stilson was the general contractor and Paul K. Evans was the architect. Wool ccntesl to Natural gas service was inaugurated in Huntington on August 31 by Mountain Fuel Supply Company. Huntington is the first of five Emery county communit i e s which will be served by natural gas and it was connected to Mountain Fuels system first of its closer proximity to the companys Uintah Basin pipeline to the north from which gas is being piped, according to J. W. Allen, Mountain Fuel vice president. Initially, gas service to Emery county will come from our Uintah Basin pipeline to the north via a connecting pipeline which is now undei onstruction and has been completed as far as Huntington, Mr. Allen said. Just as soon as this connect ing pipeline is completed to thi Ferron gas field and the well: in the field are placed on production, the flow of gas in the pipeline will be reversed ant gas from the Ferron field wi! be used to serve our customers in Emery county. We are happy to begin gas service in Emery county, and we are particularly pleased tc do so in conjunction with the development of cne of Emery countys own natural resources natural gas, he added. Two events were arranged by the company to celebrate inauguration of gas service in Huntington. One was a cooking school featuring natural gas appliances which was held in the afternoon at the LDS recreation hall in Huntington and the second was an open house in the evening which was also held at the recreation hall. At the open house, roast beef sandwiches prepared from a roast which was cooked in a natural gas oven were served to those who attended.
