Why? I dont know I didnt do it. But since someone was giving an election and Elmo Geary invited me to come, I hope I like it, and la good time was for all. Now then, since I got to the party and hope to be elected Queen of the May I feel I should tell you voters what I stand for. That would run into more money than the editor would trust me for all in one lump sum. So Ill slip it over on him a little at a time. In other words: Youll see more planks to this platform later on. So lets get going. First and 4 most I stand for the right of a man to eat his pie first, even when there is company, without having his ever loving wife cock her wartime eye at him and say: Walt, you pusillanimous Ive told you not to ask for pie first when we have company. You dont get any more pie for a month. Now that is no way to treat any man and Tm agin it. Another thing I stand for is fewer packages from Montgomery Ward and with good reason. Here Id been short changing the wife on her cream check so I could have enough for a mild Saturday nights binge one of these days. I went to put a few more sheckels in the cache and lo and behold jas well as behold and lo there was not a cent. I run hollerin like my wife was an election judge and had why. Any way. fat-hea- d, stolen my election. Where, I demand, is the money that was in the left band pocket of the winter suit hanging in the back of the closet under the overcoat? Oh, she says sweetly, was that yours? Well, I snort, It wasnt Uncle Sams. Where is it? I dont know where lit is. I needed some what nots and a what-ch- a may call it and gave the money to the post mistress for a COD from Wards. I dont know what she dren from Loa.
