Show PAGE EIGHT lion sporting instinct caused two winning members of lose a portion of their awards in the regular attendance drawing held for the first time at the Monday evening meeting. Lion Secretary Mark Lallatin sportingly offered Lion Doc Duggins half of the prize if ije would draw his (Lallatins) name as the first one out of the hat. Lion Doc did so, much accommodatingly to the astonishment of Lion Lallatin, who was holding the hat. lion George Judah, who sold his chance in the drawing to Lion Dean Isbell for 10 cents, figuring that he "never had no luck no how," was chagrined to have his name drawn for the second award. DeRell Litster, the cub of the Lions, being the newest member of the club, proved that he will be a valuable member along the entertainment line, by presenting the club Monday evening, a series of Interesting films in colors, taken during his recent mission of two years in the Canadian Provinces. Probably one of the most pressive parts of the program was the presentation of a large birthday cake to Lion President A. D. Keller, in honor of his birthday which occurs this week. The presentation was made at the close of the meeting, much to the surprise of the recipient, who, however, recovered sufficiently to graciously thank the members and express his deep appreciation. Yes, there were candles on it. How many? Oh, well, who can tell a lions age! im- All was not fun and entertainment at the meeting. There is always a more serious side to Lionism service to its country and its community. On this evening the club Joined the March of Dimes for the aid of infantile paralysis, and ordered the treasurer to mall the sum equal to ten cents per member, to the cause. Along other serious lines was a discussion of how best to aid in one of our important local projects the building of the new church in castle Dale. Many plans were discussed as to the best and most successful way for the club to raise a substan- tial amount for this project. A special committee was appointed to analyse the suggestions offered and decide on some action to be taken by the club in the near future. Members in attendance at the regular meeting Monday evening, were Darley J. Allen, Dr. S. E. Duggins, Duane A. IL. T. Hunter, Dean Frand-se- n, J. Isbell, A. G. Jewkes Jr., Louis B. Jones, Geo. A. Judah, A. D. Keller, Mark Lallatin, Emery Larsen, J. D. Peacock, A. C. Saunders, Jesse S. Tuttle and Alvin Wallace. o Ferron Legion and Auxiliary Notes Ferron Post 42 and Auxiliary entertained at a banquet and dance, at the Legion hall at Ferron Saturday night. A good crowd enjoyed a pleasant evening. The banquet was under the supervision of Nellie Behling, who should be complimented on the fine way it was arranged. The tables were in a T formation, in the center of which was a battleship, made of marshmellows and a tiny flag fastened on the deck. Tiny cannons were made of for candy sticks with wheels. Also aeroplanes made of candy and sticks of gum and were used for favors. Roast chicken with all the trimmings was served with plenty of pie for dessert.- After the tables were cleared away everyone danced. If the jitter-bu- g stays in style long enough Jess will learn to dance it. Members of the Post and Auxiliary attended the funeral of Get-Toget- Ferron Dept.
