Soon after daylight Sunday, searchers working through the Alazan creeu found four bodies in the wrickage on the banks, and another was found In the San Antonio river. While it has been declared that possibly tine majority of the estimated dead floated down the stream, searchers believe as tne wreckage is cleared away others win be found. Rescuers Sunday connneu their efforts principally to recovering bodies, work of rescuing the marooned having been completed Saturday. Rescue and relief work continued all i Saturday night and Sunday. Hundreds of Mexicans and the poorer people who liyed along the Alazan are homeless, and were given assistance by Red Cross headquarters. The fact tKat most of the bodies recovered have been fully clothed shows that the victims were either warned or heard the approaching rush of water in time to make preparations to leave. The city proper has neon tn a crippled condition all day from the flood. There have been no lights or street car service because of lack of electric power. Water has been running into the mains in parts of the city, and uie pressure is weak at these places. However, city officials said that the water pressure would be turned on ana u. was thought electric current will also be available soon. City T?iirding Inspector J. L. DANGER OF RAILROAD STRIKE Rules Are Being Ignored By Employers Workingmen Assert Cleveland, O. The danger of a railroad strike is being brought nearer by the refusal of railroad executives to abide by "the few rulings" of th,e railway labor board that were favorable to the workers, rail union leaders charged here Thursday. "All the railroads, and particularly the Pennsylvania, have been unwilling to carry out any of the rules that bene-f- it the nien," James G. Sause, Fort Wayne, Ind., representing the railroad department of the American Federation of Labor, declared Thursday. "This is rousing th,e ire of the workers, who are faithfully abiding by all dicislons of the labor board." tatS Headachi fti al The agreement under which Federal as Judge Samuel Alschuler acted arbitor in disputes between packers and union employes expired Thursday and in its place the "American shop representation plan" was established. The packers announced that more than 90 per cent of ther 75,000 employes in the courtry bave voted In favor of the plan. In all the large packing concerns the companies have formed their employes in organizations, representatives of which treat with company officials in matters of . working conditions and wages. The packers that have thrown their companies into open shops are: Armour & Co., Swift & Co., Wilson & Co. and the Cudahy Packing comhas been pany. No announcement made by Morris & Co. of a shop representation plan. With the announcement of the open shop came the statement that there would be no immediate readjustment of wages or working conditions, both of which remain the same as under the Alschuler agreement. News that organized labor had been deposed in the packing plants hit like a bombshell in labor circles. Pending conferences among union officials no statements were forthcoming. Charles Hays, president of the union ; Patrick Gorman, vice president, and Dennis Lane, business agent, called on the packers Wednesday and asked for a continuance for another year of the same wage scales and working rules as provided in the Alschuler wartime agreement. At the Armour, Swift and Morris plants they were told that only their own employes would be dealt with In the future. They were told at the Cudahy and Wilson offices that the superintendents were out of the city. Attorney James G. Condon, packers' the "American" attorney, outlined plan in operation in the four concerns, as follows": All men and women are eligible to employment whether members of outside unions or not. No person may represent employes In adjustment of grievances who Is not an employee of the company. Tha employes elect their own representatives by ballot. These representatives must be American citizens. Employes elected as representatives treat with executives of the companies in the matters of wage scales and working conditions. f 1 T' Ive Bayer TabkJj plrln cost few cents.
