DEMOCRATS PLANS ALL COMPLETED FOR BIG fcEITKMBEH DEMOCRATIC Everything is practically ready for Emery county's second tig county air next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursand, with day, September the good weather that is hoped for and which gives every promise of gracing those days, the event will easily be the greatest thing ever pulled off in East-trExhibits in the way of Utah. fruits, vegetables, and other products, which threatened to be a little slow in coming in, give promise of being there In an abundance and quality that will surprise the home man or woman as well as the stranger. The grounds and buildings are also in good shape and the race track will be declared one of the best in the state by all who see It. Practically all the work on the building and grounds has been done by Castle Dale people free gratis, the n response Wednesday, when a town holiday was declared, having been magnificent and the progress made little short of wonderful. The speed program, which promised big from the start, is exceeding expectations, entries in the way of fast horses coming in from all over. The latest additions to those- already mentioned is a couple of the fastest animals in the west which, are being brought in from Verde, Arizona, by Messrs. Niehol and Schultz of hat place. Four more animals are being brought by Kelso of Richfield, while J. II. Sperry of Ncphi is sending three head. In addition to these there will be the famous Goldie from Moab, Sleepy Boy from Green River, and - other Emery county fast stuff. The sport events each day will begin g promptly at one o'clock with a baseball games as follows: First day Tuesday Huntington vs. seven-innin- Mohrland. Second day Wednesday Cleveland vs. Twin Cities. Third day Thursday Mohrland vs. picked team from Emery county. In addition to these games, the Elmo g'r's' baseball team will play if they can be matched with another girls' team and the exhibition should be a big drawing card as the Elmo girls are very proficient in the great national pastime. The riding will be facilitated greatly by a saddling chute which is being built on the grounds and which will gram is do away with long tiresome waits be- tween events which so often tires the public and kills the real enjoyment. This is only one feature, however, which will be utilized to make the program go off with a pep that will please everybody. The authorities are advertising that there will be something doing every minute, and they intend that this shall be the case strictly. Each evening will be staged in front of the grandstand at the fair grounds, a wrestling or boxing match of the highest order, preceded by one or two fast preliminaries. Among the wrest ; AXX OUXCEMEXT Dr. Leonard, eye, ear, nose, and throat specialist from trait Lake City, will be in the county for the next week. His work will be confined strictly to his specialty. This will include the proper fitting of glasses as well as attention to eye, ear, nose, and throat work. The doctor comes well equipped for this work and those children of district school age will be given careful examinations and reports of their physical condition free of charge. The doctor has already done a great deal of work in the county and HUNTINGTON HIGH s work display of the girls that was sched- uled for next Friday, September 24, will be postponed indefinitely on account of some of the girls being away from home. Friday, the 24th, will be cleanup day for the H. H. S., and the schools, both high and elementary, will lead the townspeople in a general cleanup of the town. This is the first large project to be undertaken by the students this year. The slogan is "Make a weedless Huntington." The outlook for athletics is exceptionally bright for the winter, especially for basketball. All our old players will be back but Arnold, and we have others that can easily take his place. The balloting Stokes 28, Allred 18, and Burr to Democrats of Emery county, meeting in county convention today, placed in nomination a full county ticket to be voted upon at the general election to be held November 2.
