Mail conditions seem to be about normal on the D. &. R. G. between Price and Salt Lake, and passenger traffic is also being handled over the single temporary track. Freight traffic traf-fic will not be normal -for a few weeks yet. Hon. Ferdinand Erickson, represnt-ing represnt-ing the Utah Fuel Co., and Bob Forrester, For-rester, representing the U. S. Fuel Co., appeared before the county commission commis-sion last Monday to protest the recent raise in valuation of coal lands owned by the respective companies. Their protest was not entertained by the board. E. O. Anderson, county surveyor, who has moved his family here from Emery, is a new addition to our professional pro-fessional card column and our list of readers this week. Mr. Anderson is platting the county roads throughout the county, and this, with considerable private business which is "coming his way" is keeping him right busy. Though disappointed last Wednesday Wednes-day insofar as getting the scheduled program for the local pcture show was concerned, an even more appropriate program was furnished Manager Miller, Mil-ler, with the result that a more patriotic patri-otic program was shown. Another excellent ex-cellent subject entitled "Uncle Sam's , Defenders From Civilian to Soldier" is scheduled an one of the five reels to be shown tonight (Saturday.) Vern Peterson and Milvin Wimber, who left several months ago for an extensive trip, returned Wednesday after having been in five states and included a short jaunt into Old Mexico Mexi-co for good measure. They traveled part of the way horseback and took the cushions for the balance. They spent several week of both the going and the return trips in San Juan county. Some objection is being raised to Dr. C. T. Rose sitting on the draft examining ex-amining board for the county on the ground that he is not a citizen of the United States which the law specifically specifi-cally states must be th case, it is understood. un-derstood. Rose is reported to have applied for econd papers in Salt Lake county, however, and if this is substantiated, sub-stantiated, his appointment as county physician, in which capacity he would sit as a member of the examining board, will stand. John Taylor of Orangeville suffered suffer-ed some damage to his Ford car last Saturday morning when he went to crank it after stopping it on the grade near the Orangeville mill. Before he could get in the car or get it turned it had thrown itself over the bank and turned over a couple of times. The accident was particularly unfortunate for the fact that Mr. Taylor has taken excellent care of the machine during the two years he has had it and has never before had any repair bill to pay. The tires now on the car, and they are still in good condition too, are tne original set furnished with the car two years ago and one has never been removed from the rim. Some record, eh what! Whooping Cough. In tis disease it is important that the cough be kept loose and expectoration expecto-ration easy, which can be done by giving Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. Mrs. P. H. Martin, Peru, Ind., writes, "My two daughters had whooping cough. I gave them Chamberlain's Cough Remedy and it worked like a charm." (adv.)
