Show UTAH AGAIN COMMENDED. Once again the fine health record of Utah has won recognition and prestage for the state. In a recent article in the Chicago Tribune, Dr. W. A. Evans, a noted hygienist, pays high tribute to Utah as a whole and ; .notes that the record is even better in those communities where "Mor mon" population greatly predomi nates. Dr. Evans points out that in 1917 he goes back far in order to be clear of the influenza years, Utah's death rate was 10.2 as compared com-pared with 14.2 for the country as a whole. In the same year the birth rate was 30.3 as compared with 26 for the country at large. Duchesne Duches-ne county, he states, had a birth rate of 52.8, twice that of the country as a whole; Garfield 51.5, Piute 51.5 and Washington 45. As to infant mortality, Salt Lake has the best record in the United States for cities of its size, and is surpassed by only eleven cities of any size. Deseret News, Nov, 5.
