Show California has appropriated $-17,000,000 to finance and to prepare for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915. The people of the state have given $17,500,000 to build the exposition itself, and Nov. 8 they authorized, with a tremendous majority of votes, the issuance of $18,000,00 in highway bonds that California in 1915 may be good to look upon when the exposition visitors crowd toward the Golden Gate. At the same time $1 i, 500,000 in bonds was voted to make sure that the harbors of San Francisco and San Diego, are in condition by 1915 to handle the increased shipping that must result from the opening of the Panama canal. Altogether $17,000,000 has been provided for improvements improve-ments and the glory of the world show. |
